IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Access to clean water is a basic human right. Therefore every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge.
Do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Every human has a right to get clean and pure water. It is compulsory to give access of pure water supply to each home at free of cost. I strongly agree with this statement because contaminated water is a cause of different diseases and purified water is also necessary for a daily routine tasks.
The clean and purified water is of significant importance because it plays an essential role in the life of every human being. As a human, it is our fundamental right to have a direct access of drinking water. Furthermore, it is also used in cooking purposes so every thing that we consume have a proportion of water. Nowadays, clean water is rare and water in seas, oceans and lakes is polluted. We are consuming that dirty water daily either by means of cooking or as a drinking water. This situation is even more severe in underdeveloped countries where resources are not adequate and drinking water is polluted by factories or home wastes. For instance, many organizations in the world now paying third world countries to control this situation because every human has a basic right of fresh and pure water.
When the water is contaminated it also causes various issues specially related to health. Today, doctors are diagnosing many serious diseases that did not exist. All these diseases are spreading because of polluted water. When we drink polluted water it contains different particles that are very dangerous for our health. Therefore, many people get sick and main reason is dirty water. Hence, water filtration plants are necessary in this situation. For Example, governments and non-profit trusts are installing a lot of plants in their countries so that their citizens can get purified water.
In conclusion, fresh and clean water is essential for a healthy life and it is a basic need of every citizen. Governments and WHO should pay attention to solve the problem of contaminated water.
