Student answer (Band 5.0)

I consent , that Access to pure water is a basic individual right. Hence government should provide a free of cost water contribution. however ,government should contribute in human basic needs.

Firstly , if human access not tested water like it is not a purify water . individual may face many health issues such as typhoid, stomach pain , sore throat , Moreover if some areas of people will afford the cost of water because in cities people may have good opportunities to earn so they can easily pay however the village people can not afford the water cost.

Secondary , every individual have a right to pursue the benefit of free water and pure water. however as I say in first paragraph those who live in villages government should take care of them in priority and provide them cost free and purify water . however everyone is paying their taxes for a good life style for them and their childrens So, they have right to Access of good essentials. for example if government should not provide good essentials so every individuals should have to step forward it and take a valid step as their perspective .

in my opinion I totally agree with this valid point. it is a providence that every general group wants from their government as a return of their taxes.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address the prompt by agreeing that water should be provided free of charge, supporting this with ideas about health risks and the disparity between urban and rural dwellers. However, the task achievement is negatively impacted in two ways. Firstly, the student fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 250 words, coming in at 225 words, which places a natural ceiling on the score. Secondly, the ideas lack full development and suffer from repetition and vague argumentation, such as the underdeveloped point regarding taxes and public steps. While a clear position is stated, the limited elaboration and under-length nature of the response align closely with Band 5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text is divided into paragraphs, including an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing some basic organizational structure. However, overall progression is hindered by choppy sentence structures and repetitive transitional phrases like 'however'. Paragraphing is inconsistent, with the second body paragraph overly compressed and disjointed. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the logical thread of the arguments. Cohesive devices are used mechanically and often inappropriately, such as misusing 'Secondary' instead of 'Secondly' and misplacing conjunctions. These limitations place the cohesion of the essay firmly within the Band 5 descriptor level.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses a limited range of vocabulary appropriate for discussing basic needs and health, such as 'typhoid', 'stomach pain', and 'taxes'. However, there are numerous word choice and collocation errors throughout the text, including 'free of cost water contribution', 'purify water' instead of 'purified water', and 'good essentials'. Spelling and word formation errors are also noticeable, such as 'Secondary' for 'Secondly' and 'providence' instead of 'provision'. The vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey basic meaning, but frequent lexical inaccuracies and a lack of sophisticated phrasing restrict the score to Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures. While there are a few simple sentences that are understandable, attempts at complex sentences are almost uniformly faulty, featuring severe punctuation errors, missing subjects, and incorrect verb forms. Examples include 'if human access not tested water like it is not a purify water' and 'for example if government should not provide good essentials so every individuals should have to step forward'. Punctuation is heavily flawed, with misplaced commas and missing periods leading to run-on structures. Frequent structural errors cause considerable difficulty for the reader, matching the Band 4 descriptors.
