Student answer (Band 5.0)

In many countries, many people are paying for clean water because of their countries rules and regulation. I agree with access to clean water is a basic human right for the people therefore every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge.

First of all, water is basic need for human lives on earth and also 70% of the earth is covered by water. But due to water hazard many people have been died. Some does not have access of pure water in their home and some does have enough money to buy clean water. But aceess to clean water is basic human right. Therefore i strongly aggree with every home should have a water supply that is provided free. It is also responsibility of the country to feeding clean water to their people.

Secondly, if people can have pure water in their homes, it has several advantage for the country. for example clean water makes people more healthy and stay fit. Thus it lead to good manpower for the country. Furthermore, one healthy people can work more effectively as well as more efficiently than the suffer one. However, good health of your countries population means bright future for your nation.

Therefore, to maintain good quality of healthy life there need to provide free clean water resource.

To conclude, nature have too much water for us. But our bad management of water makes water recession problem. Therefore country should do different project to provide clean water to all people, however it gives you opportunity to be fit and healthy. Hence, access clean water is a basic human right It must be provided.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The student addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position that access to clean water is a basic human right and that every home should have free provision. The main ideas are relevant and supported to some extent, particularly regarding the health benefits for a nation's workforce. However, the development of ideas tends to be repetitive and somewhat simplistic. Phrases like 'water hazard' and 'water recession problem' show an attempt to discuss broader issues, but the reasoning remains underdeveloped in places, lacking concrete examples beyond general assertions. Overall, the response meets the basic requirements of addressing all parts of the task, earning a solid Band 5.5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing a clear structural framework. Transitional markers such as 'First of all', 'Secondly', and 'To conclude' are employed to guide the reader through the text. However, cohesion is frequently mechanical and sometimes faulty. For instance, the transition from discussing water hazards to human rights in the second paragraph feels abrupt, and referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., 'it gives you opportunity'). Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion lacks seamless progression, placing this response firmly in the Band 5.0 to 5.5 range.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student displays a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task. Words and phrases such as 'basic human right', 'healthy life', and 'effective' are used appropriately. However, there are noticeable lexical errors and awkward collocations throughout the essay, such as 'countries rules and regulation' instead of 'country's rules and regulations', 'have been died' instead of 'have died', and 'feeding clean water' instead of 'providing clean water'. Spelling and word-choice errors are frequent and occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader, aligning with the Band 5.0 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional structures ('if people can have pure water...') and relative clauses. However, control over grammar and punctuation is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in article usage ('a basic human right' vs 'access to clean water'), subject-verb agreement ('one healthy people can work'), and prepositional phrases ('access of pure water' instead of 'access to pure water'). Punctuation is also weak, with missing capitalization on 'i' and some run-on clauses. These frequent errors that can cause difficulty for the reader place the grammar score at a Band 5.0.
