IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Access to clean water is a basic human right. Therefore every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge.
Do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that every house should get free water supply because water is a basic human right. I'm Totally disagree with that opinion because free water supply can cause waste of water and less awareness among indivisuals.
Firstly, if the water is provided free people will take it as granted and will not care about the importance of water because they get it without even given money. For instance, water is wasted at an precedented rate because the comsumers are not paying bill for it while many of other regions can not get the least amount water to drink.They are deprived of their basic human rights too. So if people pay bill for waters they wil be more careful to use it.
Secondly, the people will take it the source in a playful way because people will be less concious about the importance of water or how much money need for to provided them free water supply. For instance, if the government provided free water supply the spending on electricity bill of water increase and it will hampered our economy. Furthermore, the people will also be in dangered. So, the government should not provided water supply on free of charge.
To conclude, Although water is a basic human right, it should not be provided free among indivisuals. As they will take it as granted and will be less concious about its importance.If water is provided with charge it can increase the value water among people and the government can also be out of stress about it.
