Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people aruge that clean water is a basic human right everyone want free water supply at their home without any hesitation, because water is basic thing for daily use. I totally agree with this statement clean water is required for all human's most of the people dosen't afford clean water, because they don't have access for clean water.

On the other hand, some people believe this issue managed everyone by themselves, if government should do this for popullation everyone become dependent on government. That is not good for any single person when someone become dependent to other they did not do any personal growth. For example, most of the country side area don't have access for clear water for drinking and cooking however if clean water doesn't arrange for other activities government have to make this decision for economy to supplu clear water atleast for drinking and cooking.

Moreover, For instance a family who doesn't afford claer water every month because their income are very low thay hardly afford food for eating. If someone have different bills every month at home how it can be possible to afford clear water through corriour. I think government have to take step for population and make this rule supply clean water every single home. This thing make better life for humams , because when we have clear water available at home we drink clear water clear from germs people spend their live stress free just for one thing clear water supply that provide government. Government play big role in every single person who live in that country. When government provied free clean water every home free of charge this thing make people ilves more easy.

In conclusion, some people argue that clear water is a basic human right, I totally agree with this statement every home should have a water supply that is povied free of charge, because low income families dosen't offord clear water to pay bills.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that clean water should be provided free of charge, supporting it with reasons related to low-income families and basic human needs. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. The student attempts to discuss the counterargument regarding dependency on the government, but the argument is tangled and unclear in places, such as saying 'that is not good for any single person when someone become dependent to other.' Furthermore, some points lack full extension or are expressed simplistically. While all parts of the prompt are addressed, the overall depth of exploration aligns with a Band 5.5 to 6.0 performance. Because ideas are slightly under-developed and reasoning is occasionally obscured by expression, a band score of 5.5 is appropriate.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, attempting an introduction, counterargument, supporting body paragraph, and a conclusion. However, paragraphing is not always used effectively; for example, the second and third body paragraphs contain overlapping ideas regarding low-income families and government intervention. Cohesive devices are frequently repetitive (e.g., 'moreover', 'for instance', 'in conclusion') and sometimes inaccurate or misused. The progression of ideas lacks smooth transitions, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as pronouns whose antecedents are ambiguous. The overall logical organisation is noticeable, but cohesion is mechanical and faulty at times, placing the response firmly at Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary to communicate basic points about water supply and government roles, such as 'human right', 'population', and 'economy'. However, there are numerous inappropriate word choices and spelling errors throughout the text, including 'aruge' for argue, 'dosen't' for doesn't, 'offord' for afford, 'claer' for clear, 'corriour' for courier/pipes, and 'ilves' for lives. Less common lexical items are attempted but usually miscollocated or misspelled. The frequent lexical errors and limited control over word formation place this response at a Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is weak. The text contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, such as run-on sentences, comma splices, and subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'most of the country side area don't have access', 'family who doesn't afford'). Articles and prepositions are also frequently misused or omitted. While the meaning can generally be discerned despite the errors, the density of structural mistakes and lack of error-free sentences prevent the writing from achieving a Band 6.0, making Band 5.0 a fitting descriptor.
