Access to clean water is a basic human right. Therefore every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Water is a necessity to a human being and therefore its access is a basic human right. Many people believe that water supply to households should be free of charge, while some others believe that paying for clean water should be concerned the norm. In my opinion, I believe that clean water supply should be accessible to every citizen but maybe not necessarily free of charge. This essay will explore the both points of view.

On the one hand, water is a basic need that every human has to consume to survive. This is the reason as to why clean water should be accessible to everyone. However, in these recent years, water supply prices have been increasing. Many households cannot afford these monthly bills. This causes issues as water is a necessity in our daily lives, whether it is for cooking or for personal hygiene.

On the other side, while it is true that water is a basic human right, the water supply for household should entirely be free of charge. It is important to remember that an economical sector is based on water supply which enables employment for people. Additionally, the machines that are used during the process of producing clean water are expensive and require funding.

In my opinion, I believe that clean water supply should not be completely free of charge as the money citizens pay on a monthly basis is the reason that people can keep their jobs and continu to give clean water supply to a majority of the world.
