IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Access to clean water is a basic human right. Therefore every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge.
Do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Yes, i agree with this argument that access to clean water is a basic human right and every home should have a water supply that is free of charge. As water is the basic need of human and right of life is fundamental right of every human which also includes right to clean water but in todays technological and so called progressive era, millions of people are dreprived of this necessity. Countries are introducing big AI and Data Centers in countries which requires tons of water for the cooling down of their systems and these Data Centers pollute the water of that respective areas where they are installed. Due to scarcity of clean water, many people are left with drinking impure water which results in huge immortality rate among children and surge in water born diseases. Due to large scale of supply of impure water, many people are forced to buy the water. On the other hand, who can not afford to buy it are exposed to life threatening diseases caused by consumption of impure water. It's responsibility of government to supply every human residing in their country with clean water which should be free of cost. United nation should put strict check on countries who has ratified the international conventions of health. UN should strictly fine those countires who are violating this fundamental right and profitting out of huge companies which are selling water. Water is the basic facilty and it is a right of every human to have access to it.
