Student answer (Band 5.5)
One of the basic human rights of a human being is to have access to clean water. and that's why, water supply should be free of cost. I totally agree with this opinion because it is a necessity of human and all level of people can use the water without thinking of cost.
Water is inevitiably essential thing in human life. They use water in most of their daily activities such as, in cooking, washing, bathing. So, without it we can't think of a one day. So, for all activities we can't buy water as we need a lot water to use in daily life. For example, for bathing of one people we need a lot of water. So, it will get difficult for manage all the water supply by cost.
Another reason for agreeing with this opinion is that , not all class of people can give money for water usages. All class of people equally need water. But if the water suuply is provided with charge , it will difficult for the poor people to access it. They don't get clean water as a result they are proned to some water borne diseases. For example, slums people don't have easy access to clean water. As it is a basic human right, government should make sure to acess water supply for all the people.
In conclusion, people should have access to clean water as it a basic human right. We should ensure that it should be free of cost to all the level of people.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by clearly taking a stance in agreement with the statement that clean water should be free of charge. The writer covers main ideas such as the necessity of water for daily survival, the inability of poorer populations to pay for basic utilities, and the role of the government in securing human rights. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive, with over-reliance on basic examples like cooking, washing, and bathing. The arguments lack deeper extension, which keeps the response at a Band 6 level where ideas are relevant but under-developed in places.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The text is arranged into four paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing an overall logical structure. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas, such as individual necessity versus socio-economic access. However, cohesion within sentences is sometimes faulty or mechanical. For instance, the transition 'So, without it we can't think of a one day. So, for all activities...' relies on repetitive and awkward cohesive links. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as 'for bathing of one people'. Overall, the logical progression is clear enough to earn a Band 6.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, successfully using terms like 'basic human rights', 'necessity', and 'water borne diseases'. However, there are notable word-choice errors, incorrect collocations, and spelling mistakes throughout the text, such as 'inevitiably' instead of inevitably, 'all level of people' instead of all levels of society, 'proned' instead of prone, and 'slums people' instead of slum dwellers. Because these errors do not severely impede communication, the vocabulary fits the Band 5 to Band 6 threshold, leaning towards a Band 5.5 due to the frequency of lexical inaccuracies.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional and causal clauses ('if the water suuply is provided with charge , it will difficult for the poor people...'). However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors in articles, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'One of the basic human rights of a human being is...', 'a lot water', 'for manage', 'it will difficult', 'acess water supply'). Punctuation is also problematic, featuring erratic comma placements and lowercase starting letters after periods. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect Band 5 performance.
