Student answer (Band 5.5)
Water is an essential for all the humans and other living organisms. Supplying clean water is a basic right of all citizens. It is the responsibility of a government to make it accessible for all homes without any cost. I strongly agree with this view because without clean water life on earth couldn't be possible.
To begin with, water makes about 60% of human body so it is prsnet in a every cell of living animals. Therefore providing clean water is crucial for all citizens to live better life. Healthy nation can build a strong and progressive society. For instance, when people drink low quality water, it can affect their health which can cause serious side effect on their health. So it should be the priority of a government to provide clean water free of cost to all the people.
Furthermore, as all the citizens are paying taxes on all essential items so one thing that govermnent can provide to their people can be a water free of cost. It could be basic human need and it cover almost 97% of total earth planet. If govermnet can supply water at every home it could benefit them economically also. A healthy nation can lead to progressive and develop country.
In contrast, free of cost things generally take for granted. Moreover People can waste water, can leave taps open even when they are not using, it can leads to the decreses in clean water resourses.
In conclusion, water plays a vital for all living organisms to live physically healthy life and so they can work effeciently for the country and state should make it accessible to all people in the society. However some policies should also be made to protect the water reserves.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task and presents a clear position throughout in agreement with the prompt. The writer extends relevant ideas regarding health benefits, taxation, and economic impacts, and even considers a counter-argument concerning water waste in the fourth paragraph. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed or repetitive, such as the reiteration of healthy nations and progressive societies. Overall, the argument is sufficiently sustained to meet the criteria for Band 6.0, as the main thrust of the prompt is clearly debated and supported with relevant explanations and examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response maintains a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph-by-paragraph structure, including an introduction, body paragraphs with distinct points, a concession/counter-argument paragraph, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', 'In contrast', and 'In conclusion'. However, referencing and transitions are sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'free of cost things generally take for granted' (missing subject/agent). Paragraphing is logical, yet sentence-to-sentence flow occasionally feels disjointed due to minor referencing issues, placing the response firmly at Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common terms such as 'progressive society', 'economically', and 'reserves'. However, there are numerous spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'essential for all the humans' (missing noun), 'prsnet in a every cell', 'govermnent', 'decreses', 'resourses', and 'plays a vital' (missing noun object like 'role'). These lexical errors do not impede communication, but their frequency prevents the score from rising higher than Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing conditionals ('If govermnet can supply...') and causal clauses. However, there is a persistence of grammatical errors and punctuation issues, such as comma splices ('...people can waste water, can leave taps open...'), articles missing or misused ('water free of cost', 'on total earth planet'), and subject-verb agreement errors ('it cover almost 97%'). While these errors rarely completely impede understanding, they occur with enough frequency across the text to align best with the Band 5.5 descriptors.
