Student answer (Band 5.5)

Having approach to clean water is a elementary human impartial. That is why each house should have a water supply system that is supplied free of cost.

I strongly believe that water supply should be free to every house. Many people think that water should have some cost to purchase. They think by selling water it will increase the country economy. Because by using this method they earn a lot of money the key reason of behind this that water is the only source that is the basic need of every human in the world. Without water human will not survive and this will ensure that humans surely purchase water from stores and shops and it will increase the economy of the country.

I strongly assume that water supply to every home must be free of price. Because majority of the population in the capital is living poor life. Everyone does not have enough expense to buy water bottles from grocery stores. Mass of the community members have very low salary package that is another reason for these citizens not to acquire water from market. Few steps shall be taken from government for the citizens. Like government must base water supply team in each and every hometown and it will be totally costless.

In conclusion, availability to clean water is a primary human ethical. And I must think that water supply to every house ought to be priceless and also every society have a designed system from government on a water supply. This is a very good step and it will reduce many issues of society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that clean water should be provided free of charge to every home. The student presents relevant ideas, such as economic considerations and the financial struggles of poorer citizens, and attempts to develop them. However, some ideas are repetitive and under-developed, particularly the argument regarding the national economy which becomes slightly contradictory and unclear. While the prompt is addressed and the main position is sustained throughout the essay, the depth of argumentation aligns best with the Band 6 descriptors because certain points lack full elaboration and logical extension.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is attempted, though the division could be managed more effectively to separate distinct ideas. Cohesive devices are used, but they are frequently mechanical or somewhat unnatural, such as starting consecutive sentences with 'Because' or 'I strongly assume'. Referencing can also be unclear at times, which disrupts the flow of the argument. Overall, the structural progression is adequate for a Band 5.5 or 6.0, but the limitations in cohesive control and referencing place it at a solid Band 5.5.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is frequently strained by severe word choice and collocation errors that stem from literal translations or misuse of terms. Examples include writing 'approach' instead of 'access', 'elementary human impartial' instead of 'fundamental human right', and 'priceless' when meaning 'free of cost'. While the student attempts a range of vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'economy' and 'grocery stores', the high frequency of inaccurate lexical choices impedes communication and causes confusion for the reader, which is characteristic of the Band 5 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay demonstrates a limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences alongside a few awkward attempts at complex forms. There are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text, such as 'Without water human will not survive' (missing plural and article), 'Everyone does not have enough expense' (incorrect collocation and structure), and 'Few steps shall be taken from government' (preposition and article errors). These frequent errors cause difficulty for the reader and reflect the characteristics of a Band 5 performance.
