Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is an essential need of human beings to get a clean and clear water. Hence, there should be a free source of water in each house. I agree, that the availability of clean and free of cost water is essential requirment for living a healthier life .
Water is an crucial part of our life in following aspects. Firstly, it is required for keeping our body to work properly. This can be exemplified that whenever, someone donot drink water for some hours due to many reasons such as unavilability of clean water of expensive water bottles, his body faces the shortage of water leading to dehydration. This loss of water can cause serious kidney issues in human.
Secondly, thirst is an important phenomenan of our body. And, to fulfill thirst, everyone needs water availabilty. Free water and in approach can make one's life easier. This can be illustrated with an example of people living in dessert, who face water scaricity most of the time and the water sources are also far away from their living areas. These people collect ver few littres of water from wells located at the long distances.
Finally, water is also necessary for doing daily base works. For example, taking bath, cleaning home, washing clothes and utensils, watering plants all of these require water. And for all these purposes, water should be without any dirt aa
and germs, so that it cannot lead to any human disease including abdominal pain.
In conlusion, i agree that water should be in all time approach to people and should be free of cost to help them living a better life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The student addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position of agreement with the statement that clean water should be provided free of charge in every home. Main ideas are introduced regarding health, hydration, and daily chores, supporting them with examples such as dehydration risks and water scarcity in deserts. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive, with over-generalised or slightly simplistic explanations. For instance, the discussion on daily chores lists activities like cleaning and washing without deeply exploring the broader socioeconomic implications of free public utilities. While all parts of the prompt are addressed, the depth of extension places the response firmly within Band 6.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, distinct body paragraphs signaled by transitional markers like "Firstly," "Secondly," and "Finally," and a concluding paragraph. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct points. However, cohesion within sentences is sometimes faulty or mechanical. For example, referencing and linking phrases occasionally feel awkward, such as in the sentence "This can be exemplified that whenever, someone donot drink water..." Furthermore, the transitional flow between sentences can be abrupt. Despite these minor mechanical flaws, the progression of ideas is generally easy to follow, supporting a Band 6 score.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as "dehydration," "phenomenan," and "scaricity," though spelling and word-choice errors occur (e.g., "requirment," "unavilability," "ver few littres," "daily base works," "aa"). There are also awkward collocations, such as "water in all time approach." While these errors are noticeable and detract from precision, they do not severely impede communication because the writer's intent remains clear throughout the response. The lexical control is indicative of a Band 5.5, rounded to a Band 6 based on overall adequacy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though attempts at complex structures frequently contain errors. There are numerous grammatical mistakes throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., "someone donot drink"), article omissions, and preposition errors (e.g., "at the long distances"). Punctuation and capitalization errors are also present, such as lowercase "i" in the conclusion and typos like "aa". Although these errors are frequent, they rarely impede overall communication, as the reader can still parse the underlying meaning. This balance of mixed structures and persistent errors fits the Band 5 descriptor well.
