Student answer (Band 4.5)

water is very basic human right and need which every human required significantly but geeting a clean drinkable and usable water is kind of major issue which currently every human is suffering for. many of administrative are geeting charge to supply clean water to the normal peoples but on the other side many community discharge by this basic need .if we observe and concern so many of human dont have an basic life and basic house, so it is also a big hurdle do provide basic neccessary things to this kind of community .

global warming and poor drange system is also a major problem which stand delbratly for the goverment or for the disrtirct peoples however people are choosing any governer for thier problem which should be heared and get solution by them so if a commner chose and elected the one who they choose to be trusting so yes they had to solve this kind of problem and get clean water, electricty and many other things and i am tottaly agree on this predicment.

to conclude this situation in my opnion the higher authority should make a relvent plant for the comman and middle class sector and do not objectified their issues for thier own benifits and bieng coming from a bakward and rural village my family also face an major problem beacuse of water villager had to go far from their house hold to collect water from well or from the river though the water were even not clean still people has to consume it beacuse they dont have any options.

so yes getting a clean and a direct water supply to there house it is a basic and nesccery requirement in there life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position ('i am tottaly agree on this predicment') regarding whether clean water should be provided free of charge. The writer includes relevant real-world examples drawn from personal experience, such as mentioning how villagers in a backward rural village must travel far to collect water from a well or river. However, the ideas are underdeveloped and lack sufficient extension. While the central argument is present, the explanation of why water should be free is somewhat intertwined with general grievances about infrastructure and government accountability, rather than deeply exploring the economic or human rights aspects of the prompt. Consequently, the task is addressed adequately to meet the lower-mid tier expectations, leading to a band score of 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The text suffers from significant organizational issues that impact readability. There are very few cohesive devices used, and those that are present ('however', 'so', 'to conclude') are often used mechanically or punctuation is entirely missing. Paragraphing is weak; the entire response is clumped into two massive paragraphs with no clear logical progression guiding the reader from one point to the next. Sentences often run together without adequate capitalization or terminal punctuation, making the overall arrangement difficult to follow. Pronoun referencing is also unclear in places (e.g., 'they had to solve this kind of problem'). This level of cohesion and paragraphing aligns best with a band score of 4.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is basic, repetitive, and often inaccurate. Examples of lexical errors include misspelling common words ('geeting', 'peoples', 'drange', 'tottaly', 'opnion', 'bakward', 'nesccery') and incorrect word forms or collocations ('administrative' instead of authorities, 'relvent plant' instead of relevant plan). The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items such as 'predicment', 'global warming', and 'accountability' concepts, but these are undermined by spelling mistakes and awkward usage. The range is limited and frequently strains the reader, corresponding to a band score of 4.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The grammatical range is extremely limited, relying heavily on run-on sentences joined by coordinating conjunctions like 'and' or 'so'. Complex structures are attempted (e.g., conditional clauses with 'if'), but they are frequently faulty and poorly punctuated. There are pervasive grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement errors ('every human required', 'villager had to go'), incorrect tense usage, and a complete absence of standard capitalization and periods for multiple sentences. These frequent errors cause considerable difficulty for the reader and distort meaning, justifying a band score of 4.0.
