Student answer (Band 5.5)
Clean water is by far the most important necessity for any human being to work or fuction properly. Every individual needs to drink around 4 litres of water per day to operate efficiently, as per the directions of World Health Organization.I am strongly of the view that mineral water should be provided to every household free of cost, Government should take suitable measures to encourage connections to every house, so that everyone can enjoy the benifits of this natures treasure.
Water has been the most essential necessity for humankind in every era. One can live without food but cannot live without water, Almost 70 percent of our body is made out of water and it needs water to function properly. It is necessary for everone to track their water intake as it can also cause dehydration.
Dehydration can have multiple negative effects on our bodies, for example, i was riding a bike on a sunny day and forgot to take some water, due to the heatwave, i was dehydrated and my body started to shiver as it has no energy, I couldnt find drinking water points, so instead in that tough time I found a shop and bought a bottle to drink. The government should eshtablish more filteration plants throughout the country so that fresh water is available at any time of the day for everyone.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that the government should establish these filter plants, and they should also provide clean water connections to every single household in the country without charging no money on it, so that every individual can enjoy this gift of nature to its full extent.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position that clean water should be provided free of charge by the government. The main ideas are relevant, focusing on human survival, health implications like dehydration, and infrastructural solutions such as filtration plants. However, the development of ideas tends to lean heavily on personal narrative rather than broader socio-economic arguments, which is typical of a Band 6 level. The student attempts to extend ideas about water access and government responsibility, but some points, such as the personal biking anecdote, are slightly tangential and limit the depth of the overall task response. Nevertheless, all parts of the prompt are addressed with a consistent position throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay has a recognizable overall structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used, though the second and third body paragraphs could be better organized to separate personal anecdotes from broader policy arguments. Cohesive devices are used, but some transitions feel mechanical or slightly awkward, such as starting sentences abruptly without smooth linking. Referencing is generally clear, but occasional repetition of ideas reduces the overall flow and logical progression between sentences. Overall arrangement is coherent enough to follow the writer's line of thought easily, placing it firmly at a Band 6.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'necessity', 'dehydration', and 'infrastructure' equivalents like 'filtration plants'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'fuction' instead of function, 'benifits' instead of benefits, 'everone' instead of everyone, and 'eshtablish' instead of establish. Additionally, the phrase 'charging no money on it' is slightly unnatural and informal. While these errors do not impede communication, they restrict the lexical score to a Band 5.5 because the frequency of basic spelling inaccuracies prevents higher band achievement.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some variety in structure. There are attempts at complex sentences using subordinate clauses, such as 'Every individual needs to drink around 4 litres of water per day to operate efficiently, as per the directions of World Health Organization.' However, punctuation errors are frequent, particularly missing commas, run-on sentences like 'Government should take suitable measures...', and capitalization slips (e.g., lowercase 'i' used for the personal pronoun). While the majority of simple sentences are clear, grammatical inaccuracies persist in complex structures. Communication is rarely impeded, but the density of punctuation and mechanical errors places this at a Band 5.5.
