Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is a basic human need to have a access of clean water by government and it should be provided free of cost. I strongly agree with this statement that government should provide water to every house without any charges. Because most of the work is done by water in every house. Especially, required clean water for drink and clean.
One of the major things that required clean water is to drink. Every human in this world need clean water to live without this they can't stay alive for 4 days. Many people can't buy basic thing for their live because of financial unstability that's why government should provided the clean water to everyone. It is the least thing that can govenment can do for any human ecpecially to those how sport their government.
However, if government will not supply fresh water so people have to buy water from those who sell in cheapest price, because of their finencial crisis they had to buy from somewhere. In many place the water they sold is mostly unclean and that spread infection and cause dead of any human.
In conclsion, government should provide clean water to each and every house becuase many people can't buy basic thing to their survival. Otherwise they had to buy from somewhere else that may infected they health and they mey die because of unclean water that why they shoudl provide clean water

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position agreeing that clean water should be provided free of charge, supported by reasons such as survival needs and financial instability. However, the response falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, containing only 236 words, which leads to under-development in places. Ideas are presented but remain somewhat repetitive and lack fully extended supporting examples. While the core topic is addressed, the length limitation prevents the score from reaching a higher band. As such, it aligns best with the Band 5 descriptors, as the task is only partially addressed due to the word count constraint and limited development.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The text demonstrates some organisation with clear paragraph breaks separating the introduction, body points, and conclusion. However, the overall progression is limited by repetitive argumentation and simplistic cohesive devices like 'Because', 'One of the major things', and 'However'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, for example in sentences such as 'Because most of the work is done by water in every house.' Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is frequently faulty or mechanical. This places the response firmly within the Band 5 descriptor range, where organisation is present but progression and cohesive devices are inadequate or repetitive.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive throughout the essay, relying heavily on words like 'water', 'clean', 'government', and 'buy'. There are numerous word choice and form errors, such as 'have a access of', 'finencial crisis', 'cheapest price', and 'infected they health' instead of 'infect their health'. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the basic argument, noticeable errors cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the score from reaching Band 6. The lexical range is limited, fitting the Band 5 criteria well.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The student attempts some complex structures, but they are frequently faulty and contain frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'Many people can't buy basic thing for their live because of financial unstability that's why government should provided the clean water' and 'cause dead of any human'. Punctuation and sentence boundary errors are common, leading to run-on sentences and fragments. The majority of sentences contain errors, and some structures distort the intended meaning, which aligns with the Band 4 descriptor, though the presence of some correct simple structures pulls it to a 4.5.
