Student answer (Band 5.5)
Acess to clean water is the basic necessity of a human being. That's why every home should have a water supply is provided at free of cost. I agree with this view because clean water is necessary for public health and free access can support disadvantaged families.
To begin with the most compelling point is support for low-income families. To explain, as due to the fast paced life everything has become significantly expensively and mostly time ordinary people struggle to afford their basic needs. Since clean water is a human essential needs so Government should supply it free of charge that atleast they can drink water without thinking anything and allowing them to afford other essential needs such as food, healthcare, and education. They can can give water in a twice or thrice in a day by the help of government taps, which gives water only on time to time for the whole nation. One clear example is families living in low-income communities, who may struggle to pay regular water bills and can therefore use the money saved on water for essential expenses such as food, healthcare and education.
Furthermore, is health & hygiene. To justify, these days plethora of factories and warehouses are running and releasing their waste material through underground pipes into clean Dam's, and rivers water which generally makes the water more dirty and hard to clean which normally no human being can consume and put negative impact on their overall health and hygeine. So on the accounts on this government should supply water for the better health of their citizens that they can live longer with a possible few dieases possibilities. As a result, the spread of waterborne diseases such as diarrhoea and cholera can be reduced, improving overall public health.
In conclusion, providing every household with free access to clean water is essential, as it can improve public health and reduce the financial burden on low-income families.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The student addresses all parts of the task, presenting a clear position agreeing with the prompt that clean water should be provided free of charge. Main ideas are presented, such as support for low-income families and public health benefits. However, some ideas are repetitive or slightly under-developed, particularly the mechanism of how the government should supply the water ('give water in a twice or thrice in a day by the help of government taps'). The explanation in the second body paragraph wanders slightly into general commentary about factories rather than focusing purely on the core argument. Despite these minor lapses in idea extension and minor over-generalisations, the overall task requirement is satisfactorily met, aligning with a Band 6.0 level of development.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay has a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised to separate distinct main points, such as low-income support and public health. However, cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or faulty, as seen in awkward transitions like 'To begin with the most compelling point is support for low-income families' and 'Furthermore, is health & hygiene.' Referencing is occasionally unclear, and repetitive sentence structures disrupt the smooth logical flow between sentences. While the progression is generally discernible, the awkward use of cohesive markers places this firmly in the Band 6.0 category.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'compelling point', 'disadvantaged families', and 'waterborne diseases'. However, there are notable spelling errors ('Acess', 'expensively', 'atleast', 'hygeine') and word-choice inaccuracies ('essential needs', 'few dieases possibilities', 'on the accounts on this'). These lexical slips and awkward collocations cause some distraction for the reader, although they do not completely impede communication. These characteristics correspond directly to the Band 6.0 descriptors for lexical resource.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over structure. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including tense issues ('is provided at free of cost'), missing prepositions, faulty relative clauses ('water supply is provided'), and run-on sentences. For instance, the phrase 'that atleast they can drink water without thinking anything and allowing them to afford other essential needs' contains significant structural confusions. While these errors do not heavily impede understanding, their frequency prevents the essay from reaching a Band 7.0, making Band 6.0 the most appropriate descriptor match.
