Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that water is a basic human right and should be provided free of charge. The main ideas are relevant, noting the essential nature of water for survival and suggesting government programs and individual responsibility. However, the development is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on backward countries lacks specific, well-extended examples, relying instead on broad mentions of health issues like 'Diarria and intritions defficiency'. Because the ideas are presented in a somewhat generalised manner without deep elaboration, the response aligns best with Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, although the paragraphing and transitions are basic. There is an attempt to structure the response with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion ('In a nut shell'). However, logical progression is hindered by frequent run-on sentences and a lack of cohesive devices. For example, sentences such as 'I have seen some of the backward Countries they have no access...' lack proper conjunctions or punctuation to link clauses smoothly. Referencing and transitional phrasing are weak throughout, placing this text firmly at a Band 5.0 for coherence and cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text. Examples include 'Perspective' used instead of 'perspective', 'defficiency' instead of 'deficiency', 'realty' instead of 'reality', 'initiat' instead of 'initiate', 'awairness' instead of 'awareness', and 'free of cast' instead of 'free of cost'. These errors, alongside imprecise collocations, cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a limited lexical range characteristic of Band 4.5, rounded to Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Grammatical control is weak, with frequent punctuation errors, run-on sentences, and missing capitalisation. The text relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex constructions are faulty and lack correct punctuation (e.g., 'Water is an essential element to Sustain life on Earth without water there will no life on this planet...'). Subject-verb agreement and pluralisation errors are also common, such as 'newborns dead rate' and 'countries which has no acces'. These persistent errors cause frequent strain for the reader, matching the Band 4.5 descriptors, rounded to 5.0.
