IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Access to clean water is a basic human right. Therefore every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge.

Do you agree or disagree?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

Our life begins with the water. Water is the basic essential need of the living sources. Clean drinking water is a blessing of god. The total area of the earth is covered with almost 3 quarters with water but this water contain salt in it but there are streams, lakes, rivers, glaciers present in the world which are the great sources of clean drinking water.

In ancient times the humans can use various types of instruments to store the clean drinking water because the water supply to home is limited or do not occur. So the traditional way to store the clean drinking water is digging of the pit/well in the backyard of the houses. The other methods to store water is making utensils which is made from the different types of material. For example clay made utensils, steel utensils are made for the storage of water.

For the purpose of supply of water, different animal carts are used to transport the water. In addition to this peoples carry water in the utensils from the long way it takes a lot of effort, time and energy.

As the time passes there is a significant increase in the usage of water, So for this purpose the new methods are adopted and government will make proper arrangements for the supply of water.

For instance, now a days irrigation water comes from the tube wells, the water which comes to the home is from the waterpipe lines.

It is concluded that the water can be provided of free of cost or a very limited charges can be applied because for the survival of life the clean drinking water is essential for cooking and drinking. So it is the moral duty of every government to build the proper plans. In this way they also get the trust of population for their elections.
