IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Access to clean water is a basic human right. Therefore every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge.
Do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
Clean water is a basic human need and every home should have a free of cost access to clean water supply. Some people while believe that the access to clean water is full of free cost because it is a fundamental human right. I completely agree from this statement because from the very beginning water is essential for all human beings to live.
On the one hand, there is a strong moral argument for ensuring universal access to clean water. Water is necessary for survival, health and dignity. In many developing countries including pakistan, access to clean water is a fundamental human freedom and it should be free of cost. For instance, people who are living in countryside don't pay any charge on it because they can't afford our initial expensses.
On the other hand, if the government sectors could not provides free of cost water supply then what the government do with our residents taxes. For example, every kind of person who are living in this country pay taxes everyday because anybody who purchase anything from seller pay tax on this thing. So, the authorities of country should provides the proper pipeline of clean water to the households as free of charge.
In Conclusion, although clean water must be available to everyone as a human right, providing unlimited free water supply to the every home is not a practical or sustainable solution. Government sectors should providing the filtered water on the streets, parks, highway roads, etc because it's a good kind of work that the authorities tries to do it.
