Student answer (Band 4.5)
It is an important human right to get a clean drinking water which prevent people from different types of diseses cused by polluted water. I completely agree with the point that every home should get a water supply however i donot expect to be free of charge goverment should take some charge on drinking water.
The first reason is that clean drinking water helps people in health also prevent people from different types of diseases that they face due to contamenated and polluted drinking water. pakistan for example have faced a great loss due to polluted water, people from pakistan have suffered for more then 4 years from the diseases such as dierhya, malnuttrition, and facing problems with worms growing inside their intestine, stomach, and so on.
The second equally important reason is that it helps for children, teenagers, and elderly development. They are likely to think and get good source of education after that also imporve their living standards instead of suffering they get to live a easy life. It also supports community, society, cities and overall nation for development work. Protecting the nation values and vanurable people building immune system in their body.
It might be impossible to provide free of cost as it creates huge pressure on budgets, overconsumption as well as mantainance. The goverment have to do lots of expenditure for the technology and materials needed for budgets.
In, conclusion, Firmly i believe that providing clean drinking water should be compolsory. The benefits for both individual and nation as well people development.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt regarding whether clean water is a basic human right and whether it should be provided free of charge. The student's position is somewhat contradictory or nuanced; they agree it should be supplied to every home, but disagree that it should be completely free, arguing instead that the government should charge a fee. Ideas are presented, such as the health consequences of contaminated water citing Pakistan as an example ('pakistan for example have faced a great loss due to polluted water'), and the economic pressures of providing free utilities. However, these ideas are underdeveloped and lack full elaboration. While all parts of the task are touched upon, the lack of depth and minor confusion regarding the stance place this performance at Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, which helps establish a basic structure, but the logical progression and overall flow are weak. Cohesive devices are minimal, mechanical, or misused, such as abrupt transitions between sentences and paragraphs. For instance, moving from the health effects in Pakistan straight to child development and then abruptly to budget pressures makes the essay feel disjointed. Referencing and paragraph internal connections are faulty, and punctuation errors further disrupt the flow. Although there is a discernible overall arrangement beginning with an introduction and ending with a conclusion, the lack of smooth cohesive links restricts the score to Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
The student uses a limited vocabulary range that is minimally adequate for the task. There are several noticeable word choice and spelling errors that detract from the writing, such as 'diseses' (diseases), 'cused' (caused), 'donot' (do not), 'goverment' (government), 'contamenated' (contaminated), 'then' (than), 'dierhya' (diarrhoea), 'malnuttrition' (malnutrition), 'vanurable' (vulnerable), 'mantainance' (maintenance), and 'compolsory' (compulsory). While the writer attempts some less common terms like 'overconsumption' and 'development work', the frequency of basic spelling and lexical errors causes some difficulty for the reader and places the response firmly at Band 4.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
The grammatical range is quite limited, consisting primarily of simple sentences and a few flawed attempts at complex structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, incorrect punctuation, and run-on sentences that impede communication. Examples include missing capitalization ('pakistan'), comma splices ('It is an important human right...'), and incorrect verb forms ('government have to do lots of expenditure'). Sentences frequently lack necessary structural integrity, such as 'It might be impossible to provide free of cost as it creates huge pressure on budgets...' where the subject of the infinitive clause is missing. These persistent errors across most sentences result in a Band 4.0 score for grammatical accuracy.
