IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Access to clean water is a basic human right. Therefore every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge.

Do you agree or disagree?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some people believe that clean water is a basic human right therefore every home should get free water supply. I agree that clean water is our basic need and rights. But, I dont agree that they everyone receive free water supply at home.

One important reason is that, water is one of our basic needs. If everyone started receiving free water supply, than they will not give value to the water. In the result, people not going use water wisely. Some people still use the water unnecessarily.

First example, if they wanted to drink water they refill the whole glass, than they drink half glass and other half they throw away in sink. Another example of that, some people dont turn off the shower even when they are not ready for shower. Some people turn on sink water until they finish teeth brushing.

Another reason that everybody have to pay the water supple bill becuase each countries government have to deal with the water. All over the world have to divide the water from the earth. The water we receiving is from river, sea, lake and mountains. The water we recieve it is not ready to drink water. Somebody have to clean that water and then you get fresh, cleaned and hygine water. For all this process goverment needs money to supply clean water at everybody's home. So, that's why we have to pay water bill.

In conclusion, I would suggest that government should gives more knowledge to people regarding how wisely have to use water. In world, there are places where people are dying because they dont have enough water. Have to promote the imporatnce of water in our daily life.
