Access to clean water is a basic human right. Therefore every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge.

Student answer (Band 6.5)
Access to clean water is essential for human survaivals and health. Because of this, some argue that governments should provide free waterv supply to every household. While i agree that clean water is fundamental right, i disagree that it should be completely free for everyone without any restrictions.
On one hand, making water free ensure that low-income families can meet their basic daily needs withpout financial stress. Water is necessary for drinking, cooking, and hygiene, which prevent diseases and improvers public health. If poor households are forced to pay high prices for water, they might resort to using unsafe sources, leading to severe health problems. Therefore, providing a minimum amount of clean water at no cost is vital for basic human welfare.
On the other hand, supplying free water to all homies can lead to significant waste. When people do not pay for a resource, they often use it recklessly, such as by overwatering lawns or leaving taps running. This can put a huge strain on local infrastructure and cause serious shortages. Furthermore, collecting, treating, and distribution clean water requires substantial money for mentainin. If governments receive no revenue from water usage, it becomes difficult to maintain quality standards and expand networks to rural areas.
In conclusion, while clean water is a basic human right, providing unlimited free water to every home is financially unsustainable and promotes waste. A better solution would be providing a free basic allowance for every hoousehold, while charging a feefor usage beyond that treshold.
