IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Access to clean water is a basic human right. Therefore every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge.
Do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays finding clean water is very difficult. So our government provide it for us. People think it should be free of charge but government think otherwise. So today we will talk about this debate in this essay. I am going to provide further information and my own opinion in further paragraphs.
We will first talk about water , yes it is basic human right . Our earth have large amount of water in the form of sea , rivers , canals and glaciers. When some people come to know that we have that much water they think that water should be free because we have enough water on earth. But when we examine that water we come to know that mostly earth water is salty and we can nit drink that . There is only a small amount of water we can drink. And now only small amount of water is left on earth for use. We noticed we can not drink any null water in the city because the water is not pure. We have to clean and purify first and then we should drink it.
This is the task our government is doing right now. They first collect good water then clean it purify it. They make sure that it is drinkable or not if it is ready they gave us that water. All this need labor. And government have to pay these labor and make machines for this system , so all this need money thats why they are charging us. Thats my personal opinion if they are charging us a little for clean water we should give them these charges. Because we are getting clean water supply in return.
