IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Access to clean water is a basic human right. Therefore every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge.

Do you agree or disagree?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

It is often argued that availabilty of fresh drinking water is the fundamental right of the every human being which is a valid point , but I utterly oppose the notion that free drinking water shuold be provided to all.

While, looking at the first side of the picture its true that neat and clean water is significant for all humans for the several reasons. Firstly, it reduces the chances of illness ultimately contributes to health of individuals. For instance, several fatal diseases like metal poisoning, renal failures and heart isssues are related to consumption of polluted water. Secondly, drinking pure water also enhances the life span of its consumers by increasing immunity to toxic viral and bacterial attacks. Just to state an example it is observed that in developing countries the proportions of water born diseases like Malaria and typhiod are much more compared to developed countries where there are numeruos sources of fresh waters are available . Finally, distilled water serves as a way of healthy and fit lives for inhabitans of specific area.

In spite of several health positive outcomes, I would argue that supplying free of cost delivery to every family must not be possible due to numerous facts. Initially, it will burden the nation's treasurey without genrating any revenue. Suppose any state provides distilled water to every consuming family will have no resources may be for the forthcoming future to sustain this project. Additionally, developing such a huge infrastructure which would provide pure water to all the population may not be seem practial, because the state has other responsibilities like dealing with healthcare and education. Finally, I also believe firmly that people may not pay serious attention to pure water beneficeries if it is provided them without any charges.

In conclusion, I agree that fresh water is momentuous for all human beings, however, I argue that people must have to pay for the cleaner and drinkanble water.
