Student answer (Band 5.5)
Most of the people now are having issues regarding water supply, therefore the issue of water supply is of the great importance and needed much attention. However, i agree to the statement that every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge.
The first reason of my agreement is that free supply of clean water will save people from using well waters for the drinking and cooking purpose. People in the rural areas do not maintain the water supply connection due to the high cost associated with it which they cannot afford. Ultimately the use of unfiltered water give rise to many kind of diseases and even death. For example: Last year in a village near my home almost 8 members of the same family died from using unfiltered water. Just beacuse the authorities cut of their water supply due to non payment of utilities.
The second reason i agree to this idea is that this action will show the gesture of equality in society. Not only rich or middle class, but also lower class will have the same facility. This will ultimatley boost society's view point towards optimism. Similarly the upper class will not feel injustice. Providing the basic necessity equally to all mebers of society will ultimately show the effective justice sysytem. For example: Some poor people have to find other uncleaned sources for fulfilling this much natural need due to poverty.
Overall, thinking of the system in ehich every person of society will have free supply of clean water will such a goof initiative as it will prevent human loss and foster the sense of social justice. Because as we say "Access to clean water is a basic human right".

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The student addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position and supporting it with relevant, albeit somewhat extreme, examples. The essay takes a stance in the introduction and maintains it throughout the body paragraphs. In terms of idea development, the first body paragraph discusses health risks associated with a lack of clean water, while the second discusses social equality. However, the development tends to rely heavily on emotional storytelling (e.g., citing a specific family death) rather than broader sociological or economic arguments, which is characteristic of a Band 6.0 performance. The position is clearly stated as agreeing with the prompt, and the main ideas are identifiable, fulfilling the requirements for Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, dividing the introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion appropriately. Cohesive devices are used to signal progression, such as 'The first reason of my agreement' and 'The second reason i agree', which provides a clear organizational structure. However, referencing and transitional phrases can occasionally feel mechanical or awkward, such as 'Just beacuse the authorities cut of their water supply'. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to structure the argument logically, resulting in a Band 6.0 score.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'unfiltered water', 'utilities', and 'social justice'. However, there are notable word-choice and collocation errors, including 'well waters' instead of 'well water', 'uncleaned sources' instead of 'untreated sources', and 'such a goof initiative' instead of 'such a good initiative'. Spelling errors like 'beacuse' and 'ultimatley' also occur. These errors do not seriously impede communication, placing the response securely in the Band 6.0 category.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though complex structures are often accompanied by errors. Examples of grammatical inaccuracies include 'Most of the people now are having issues' (inappropriate tense/aspect), 'The first reason of my agreement is that...' (awkward prepositional usage), and sentence fragments such as 'Just beacuse the authorities cut of their water supply due to non payment of utilities.' Punctuation and capitalization errors are also present, such as 'i agree' and 'ehich'. While these errors occur frequently, they rarely impede overall communication, reflecting a Band 5.5 performance.
