Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The student attempts to address the prompt regarding whether clean water should be provided free of charge, briefly stating agreement. However, the response is severely under-length, containing only 76 words against the mandatory 250-word minimum. Furthermore, the development of ideas is extremely limited and cuts off mid-sentence ("forthemore he has many advantages for example it"). Because the response falls drastically short of the word count requirement and fails to present a fully developed argument with supporting examples, it aligns with Band 4 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The text lacks proper paragraphing and structural progression, largely due to its fragmentary nature and abrupt ending. While the writer attempts a basic cohesive link ("First of all" and "forthemore"), the overall organization is disrupted by incomplete thoughts and repetitive phrasing. Referencing is also confusing, as seen in the sudden shift to pronouns like "he" when referring to water. Given these organizational and cohesive shortcomings, the writing fits the Band 4 description where ideas are not arranged cohesively.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, featuring frequent spelling mistakes such as "bassic", "Therrfore", and "emagineted". Phrases like "the important thing at the world" and "thats world" demonstrate limited word choice and poor collocation. While the student attempts to use some topic-related vocabulary ("human right", "water supply"), the lexical range is narrow and noticeable errors impede communication in several places. This performance corresponds to Band 4 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
The grammar is characterized by frequent foundational errors, including run-on sentences, comma splices ("supply that is provided free of charge, actually i agree"), and missing capitalisation. The range of structures is extremely limited, relying primarily on simple, faulty clauses. The sentence "without water life it doesent exist" contains clear structural flaws, and the response ends with an incomplete grammatical structure. Due to frequent errors that strain meaning and the absence of complex sentence control, a Band 4 is appropriate.
