Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this period of globalization, many people are suffering from the shortage of clean water for drinking purpose other cleaning purposes. Clean water should be in our reach as it is a basic right of every person. In my opinion, I strongly agree with this notion and my opinion will be discussed in further paragraphs with a suitable conclusion.
Supporting my agreement to the given statement, I firmly believe that in this modern Era as technology and resources grow everyday, there should be a digitalized and modern process to provide the clean water to the communities for drinking purpose and households. In most countries there is a filtration plant facility available at district level that costs you which be should be free of cost and this same strategy for the villages or rural areas . Moreover there must be waste water treatment plants for the cleaning water before discharging to the lakes or rivers.
Explaining some of the another supporting points in favor of this statement, it is true that access of clean water in our society is our basic right and we should protect and make a bold arguments in case of failure for providing clean water. In every country, government should take charge of this issue and add this as a highlighted note for future. There should be a proper mechanism for managing the industrial waste and this will also protect our water table as well. As a result, people will live in a healthy and peaceful environment that put them at the highest level of living standard.
In conclusion, providing clean water at doorstep without any charge is the basic right and it should not be violate. I believe that aforementioned points are strongly supporting my view point.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the task partially, presenting a clear position that clean water should be provided free of charge, but the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For example, the writer mentions that 'there should be a digitalized and modern process to provide the clean water' and that filtration plants 'should be free of cost,' but these points are not sufficiently extended with relevant examples or deep explanations. The second body paragraph mentions government responsibility and industrial waste management, which touch upon the prompt, but the supporting arguments tend to generalise without exploring the economic or logistical implications of free public utilities. To reach the next level, the student needs to present more fully developed ideas and support them with specific explanations or examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some organisation evident in the essay, with a clear introduction and conclusion, and the use of basic paragraphing. However, there is a lack of clear overall progression across the text. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or mechanical, such as 'Explaining some of the another supporting points in favor of this statement,' which feels repetitive and awkward. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, as seen in phrases like 'and this will also protect our water table as well.' Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs lacks smooth transitions between ideas. To progress, the writer must ensure logical progression from sentence to sentence and use a wider range of cohesive devices with greater accuracy and flexibility.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey the basic message of the essay. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'globalization,' 'filtration plant facility,' and 'industrial waste,' but noticeable errors in word choice and word form occur throughout. Examples include 'for drinking purpose other cleaning purposes' instead of 'for drinking and other cleaning purposes,' 'access of clean water' instead of 'access to clean water,' and 'cleaning water' instead of 'cleansing water' or 'treating water.' Spelling is generally acceptable, but inaccurate collocations and incorrect prepositions tied to specific words cause some difficulty for the reader. Expanding the lexical repertoire and focusing on precise word choices and collocations will help elevate this score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer demonstrates a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside attempts at complex sentences that are frequently faulty. There are noticeable errors in grammar, articles, and prepositions within grammatical patterns. For instance, the phrase 'provide the clean water to the communities' misuses the definite article, and 'costs you which be should be free of cost' contains tangled verb forms. Furthermore, sentences like 'access of clean water in our society is our basic right and we should protect and make a bold arguments' show pluralisation errors and faulty coordination. Frequent errors in verb tenses, article usage, and clause structure persist, though they do not completely impede overall communication. Improving structural variety and grammatical precision is necessary for higher bands.
