Student answer (Band 5.0)
This is a very important topic to discuss. Water is a great blessing of Allah, and it is very important to everyone even there are humans, animals, insects, birds, and also for all living beings. It is the basic need of all the creations. Nobody can live without water.
So in every place clean water is the most important need of every being and it's our goverenment duty to deliver clean water in every city or area. I think not only is water needed but clean water is essential. In many cities or areas in our country there is not clean water available. Dirty water is delivered to most of the cities, due to this it causes many dangerous diseases like fever, stomach problems, malaria and many other dieases. People face many problems due to this. Water is our basic need it is our goverenment duty to provide clean water for peoples.
It is our right that in every home have water supply which is free of cost because it is against our relegion that people pay for water. Water is not the thing which we buy it is our basic need. So I think it should be free of cost and deliver to every home by our goverenment. Good and pure water system is one of the great thing which shows our country the best and rich country.
At the end, I only say that water is the basic need of everybody so our goverenment should not pay for it and it supply in every home. So that peoples spend their lifes happily and easily

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the task only partially. While the student expresses a clear opinion that clean water should be provided free of charge by the government, the ideas presented remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion regarding the health consequences of dirty water ("fever, stomach problems, malaria and many other dieases") is stated simply as a list rather than being fully explored to support the broader argument about basic human rights. Similarly, the reasoning regarding religious views is mentioned briefly without sufficient extension. To move to a higher level, the writer needs to expand upon their main arguments with more thorough explanations, relevant examples, and a more fully sustained position throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some basic organisation in the essay, featuring an introduction, body paragraphs, and a concluding remark, but it lacks a clear overall progression. The movement between ideas feels somewhat disjointed, and the paragraphs are not always cohesive. Cohesive devices are either repetitive or inadequate; for example, the essay relies heavily on simple transitional words like "So" to start sentences and link thoughts, rather than utilizing a broader range of linking phrases to demonstrate logical relationships. Referencing is also occasionally unclear. To improve, the writer should focus on structuring paragraphs with a clear topic sentence followed by supporting points, and employ a wider variety of cohesive devices to guide the reader smoothly through the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to communicate the basic message. The writer uses recurring everyday words and phrases such as "basic need," "clean water," and "government duty." However, there are noticeable lexical errors, including spelling mistakes ("goverenment" instead of government, "relegion" instead of religion, "dieases" instead of diseases) and awkward word choices or collocations, such as saying "our goverenment should not pay for it" when meaning citizens should not have to pay, or "deliver to every home." These errors and the restricted range of less common vocabulary cause some difficulty and prevent the response from achieving a higher rating.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer demonstrates a limited range of grammatical structures, relying primarily on simple sentences alongside some faulty attempts at complex ones. Frequent errors are present throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement and prepositional use within grammatical patterns, such as "in every home have water supply" instead of 'every home should have a water supply,' and "it is very important to everyone even there are humans." Punctuation and phrasing errors also occur regularly, such as run-on structures like "Water is our basic need it is our goverenment duty." These frequent errors require the reader to occasionally decode the meaning, characteristic of this level of grammatical control.
