Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position regarding whether clean water should be provided free of charge to every home. Relevant ideas are introduced, such as health benefits and economic growth, aligning with the expected band level. However, some ideas are under-developed or remain somewhat repetitive and simplistic. For instance, the argument regarding economic growth is briefly mentioned in the second body paragraph as 'it directly increase our economy growth' without deep elaboration or specific examples explaining the causal link. The progression of ideas is present, but to move further, the writer needs to extend supporting points with more thorough explanations and fully realized examples rather than generalized statements.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the response into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used adequately to separate distinct main points. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical, and referencing is not always completely clear. For example, transition markers like 'First of all,' and 'Secondly,' help guide the reader through the main points, but internal ties within paragraphs show weaknesses, such as 'For this piont, it means it directly increase...' which disrupts the natural flow of ideas. To achieve a higher level, the writer must ensure that cohesive devices are used more smoothly and that referencing words clearly link back to their intended antecedents without causing ambiguity.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'civilization', 'distruction', and 'waterborn disease'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'miniral', 'althouth', 'knoe', 'eassy', 'coast', 'envirnment', 'popolation', 'governemt', 'autoamticaly', 'suply', 'greate', and 'succes'. These lexical and orthographic inaccuracies occasionally draw attention, although they generally do not prevent the core message from being understood. To reach a higher standard, the writer needs to expand control over word forms and improve spelling accuracy significantly while employing a more varied and precise range of academic vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some capability to construct multi-clause sentences, such as 'if everybody drink mineral the all disease keep away our popolation.' Nevertheless, the response contains frequent errors in grammar and sentence structure that frequently impede communication and place the text in the lower band range. There are multiple issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'the all disease keep away', tense inconsistencies like 'is say that are many disease are usually comes', missing articles, and awkward prepositional or clausal patterns. Furthermore, punctuation is inconsistent. To improve, the student must focus heavily on foundational sentence construction, verb form accuracy, and eliminating recurring basic grammatical errors.
