Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 250 words, stopping abruptly at only 111 words, which significantly restricts the development of ideas. While the writer attempts to address the prompt by expressing a clear position regarding free water access, the response only minimally responds to the task overall. Ideas are severely limited and under-developed, lacking the extended reasoning and supporting examples expected. For instance, the mention that 'water play a crucial role' is not expanded upon adequately, and the point about earth being covered with water is cut off mid-sentence. To improve, the writer must fully develop arguments with cohesive supporting details and ensure the task length is met.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

Information and ideas are not arranged coherently across the text, reflecting a minimal level of organization. Although there are some basic attempts at transitional phrases like 'At the outset' and 'On the other hand', the overall progression lacks clarity and logical flow. Paragraphing is poorly handled, with the response collapsing into a single underdeveloped block that abruptly stops due to the unfinished final sentence ('I believe that goverment should invest in'). Referencing is frequently unclear, and cohesive devices are inadequate to guide the reader smoothly through the argument. To achieve a higher level, the writer needs to structure the essay into distinct, logically ordered paragraphs with clear topical progression and appropriate cohesive links.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for conveying basic thoughts, containing noticeable errors that cause difficulty for the reader. There are frequent spelling mistakes, such as 'whould', 'orgnization', 'recive', 'opinoin', 'play', 'becuse', 'soures', 'provied', 'hight', and 'goverment', along with word choice and form issues like 'humans basic need' instead of 'a basic human need'. While the writer attempts some less common terms like 'crucial role', these are undermined by recurring lexical inaccuracies. To progress further, the writer must expand their vocabulary range, practice correct word formation, and pay close attention to standard spelling conventions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a very limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple or poorly constructed complex forms. Frequent errors are present throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'water play'), missing articles (e.g., 'without water we can not se our upcoming future'), and incorrect punctuation and capitalization (e.g., missing spaces after commas, lowercase 'i'). Attempts at complex sentences result in run-on structures that lack proper punctuation boundaries, such as 'because water is not only a soures that help us in our daily life that is support human life by provied hydration'. These frequent errors require the reader to work harder to understand the intended meaning. To improve, the writer needs to practice basic sentence demarcation and grammatical accuracy.
