Student answer (Band 5.5)

Water is great blessing of our God .We should not waste it. And that's 100% true everyone has right to access clean water.

If pure water is available for everyone free of cost then everyone in our society is blessed with this great blessing and it would be extremly helpful to stop diseases from polluted water. And people would live healthy.

But every facility have some pros and corns. If water would be provided free of cost then the people of our society would not value the great blessing in the sense of water and waste it . I often saw that the places where water filter are planted the people after filling their cans with water leave the the tap open and sometimes the taps are stealed.

In my opinion there should be a path between these two options . Mean to say that it should be very cheap that even poor people can afford it easily . Because if people spent on anything even if its costs is very low they would not waste it . So in this case i think all the problems would be solved poor people can get it easily , ignorant people would not be waste it and diseases from water would not be spread.

There is no doubt in that water is a great blessing and we should not waste it . And it is a basic human right to get clean water and it is also responsibility of our society to protect this gem

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt partially by discussing both the idea of free water and the alternative option of making it very cheap. However, the position is not always clearly sustained throughout, and the ideas presented are somewhat limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion regarding water wastage and public behavior touches upon a relevant point, but it lacks specific supporting details or well-developed examples to fully flesh out the argument. To move to a higher level, the response needs to present a fully developed position with well-supported ideas that thoroughly examine all parts of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some basic organisation in the text, evident in the progression from introducing the topic to discussing pros and cons and finally offering a balanced personal opinion. However, there is no clear overall progression, and cohesive devices are frequently inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive. Paragraphing is attempted, but sentences often feel disjointed due to limited and mechanical transitions, such as abrupt shifts between ideas without sufficient linking phrases. To achieve a higher band, the writer must ensure a clearer logical progression throughout the text and manage cohesive devices more flexibly and accurately.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common expressions, such as 'basic human right' and 'great blessing', but there are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling, such as 'extremly', 'corns' instead of 'pros and cons' misuse, 'stealed' instead of 'stolen', and 'ignorant people would not be waste it'. These lexical inaccuracies occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted range of vocabulary. To improve, the writer needs to expand their lexical repertoire and pay closer attention to word formation, collocations, and correct spelling.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a very limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic coordination. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, such as missing articles, incorrect verb forms ('If water would be provided', 'people spent on anything'), and run-on sentences with inadequate punctuation. These frequent errors can cause some difficulty for the reader and occasionally impede communication. To reach the next level, the writer should incorporate a wider variety of complex structures with greater grammatical accuracy and better control over punctuation.
