Student answer (Band 6.0)
I believe that the basic human right is to have acces to pure water. Hence water should be provided to every house without charging any cost. I largely agree with this.
Firstly, clean water is a basic necessity to human beings and should be provided to everyone regardless where people live. Nowadays, there is not enough clean water provided in populated cities. People have to pay charges to the goverment to provide it to them. while in some areas this facility is not even provided as people have to pay for their water delivered by tankers to access a reliable supply of clean water. This becomes a serious issue as it gets expensive for them to afford a basic right, whether they pay to the government or to the local water tankers. Consequently, humans are deprived from enough water supply they need for regular use.
Therefore, this is the main rising issue in many countries such as most of asian populated areas. To cope with this Government should make water schemes and programs to make sure water supply is provided to every house free of cost. This will reduce the financial burden on low income families struggling for water. Additionally, people who wait for hours and pay for their water deliveries by tankers would have free acces to water and allow them to spend that monay on other essestial expenses such as food, living or education. Furthermore, it will also decrease the high rate of dieseses in children occuring mainly from dirty or impure water such as dierhea and food poisoning. By proving clean water free , people would less likely to rely on unclean water and provide them with basic human right.
In conclusion, i agree with that free clean water should be provided to every house as its important for every human. Also i free access to clean water can also improve living conditons as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task and maintains a clear position throughout, stating that free clean water should be provided to every household. The ideas presented are relevant, such as discussing financial burdens on low-income families and health benefits like a decrease in waterborne diseases. However, some ideas remain under-developed or briefly stated, particularly the discussion surrounding government schemes and global application, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher level. The arguments lean towards generalisations without fully extending every supporting point with precise examples. Nevertheless, the main task requirements are thoroughly covered, successfully meeting the criteria for a solid performance with elements of further development.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, moving logically from an introduction to body paragraphs discussing necessity, economic impacts, health benefits, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'Firstly', 'Consequently', 'Additionally', and 'Furthermore', though their usage can occasionally feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. Referencing is generally clear, but transitional links between some sentences lack smoothness, occasionally disrupting the logical progression. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately to separate distinct ideas, yet the overall cohesion could be improved by varying the cohesive ties and ensuring tighter connections between consecutive sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'financial burden', 'deprived', and 'essential expenses'. However, there are noticeable limitations and inaccuracies in word choice, spelling, and word forms. Examples include 'acces' instead of 'access', 'goverment' instead of 'government', 'monay' instead of 'money', 'essestial' instead of 'essential', and 'dierhea' instead of 'diarrhoea'. Furthermore, phrases like 'high rate of dieseses' show awkward collocation. These errors do not impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score, as the control over spelling and less common vocabulary needs greater precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over structure. There are instances of effective complex sentences, such as 'Additionally, people who wait for hours and pay for their water deliveries by tankers would have free acces to water...'. However, a number of grammatical errors persist, including missing articles ('to have acces to pure water'), prepositions ('regardless where people live' instead of 'regardless of where'), and subject-verb agreement issues ('Government should make' or 'programmes to make sure water supply is provided'). Punctuation is also occasionally weak, with run-on phrasing and lowercase letters at the start of sentences in the conclusion. These errors rarely impede communication, reflecting a mixed control of grammar.
