Student answer (Band 6.0)

In these days, many people believe that one of the fundamental human right is accessabilty to drinkable water, as a result every households shuold be provided with suitable water supply wthout any charge.I strongy agree with this statement, and i think it is imortant for every individuals to get such basic need for free.

It is clear that water is one of the crucial resources that needed by many living creatures, in order to maintain their life as it is required by cells to conduct their normal functioning and surviving. On of the main reason is that water plays important role in a very detailed processes inside the body like the chemical reactions between elements. It can be noticed that considerable number of countries are lacking of water sources due to huge amount of desert that are located in such places. Such issue may make people strugle to obtain water for free. Consequently, it is strongly related to surviving of many individuals including human beings.

Another reason is an economic state of many people, who can not obtain a decent amount of income, providing water to them with fees may endanger their life as they may not afford required amount. For example in many African countries, majority of people suffer from financial crises, by introducing them with money to get water, it become more demanding duty for them to survive and may lead to further deterioration .

In conclusion, from my perspective water is a basic human need and should be gained essily without any financial burden. furthermore ,government from developed countries should provide such necessity to less developed ones in order to protect diversity.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the task and presents a clear position throughout, as seen in the statement "I strongy agree with this statement". Relevant ideas are presented, such as the biological necessity of water and economic hardships faced by impoverished populations. However, some ideas are under-developed or lack sufficient extension. For instance, the point regarding African countries and financial crises touches upon a valid argument, but it is not fully explored with deeper analysis or concrete, specific examples beyond a general mention. To reach a higher level, the ideas would need more thorough elaboration, stronger support, and a more fully developed line of reasoning across all body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear logical progression from the introduction through the body paragraphs to the conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate distinct arguments, such as biological needs versus economic factors. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty. For example, transitional phrases and referencing are occasionally awkward, as seen in sentences like "On of the main reason is that..." where logical flow is disrupted by structural slips. To achieve a higher standard, the writer needs to employ cohesive devices more flexibly and ensure that referencing between sentences is consistently smooth and unobtrusive.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task and attempts less common items, such as "fundamental human right", "financial crises", and "financial burden". However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors that reflect a limited and developing lexical range. Examples include spelling mistakes like "accessabilty", "drinkable", "shuold", "wthout", "strongy", "imortant", "individuals", "strugle", and "essily". Furthermore, awkward collocations and word forms appear, such as "main reason is that water plays important role in a very detailed processes". These errors do not completely impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score because precision and control are lacking.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over structure. There are instances of complex clauses, such as conditional or causal relationships introduced by "as a result" and "in order to". However, a number of errors in grammar and punctuation persist throughout the text. There are issues with article usage, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions, such as "in these days" instead of "these days", "every households shuold be provided", and "government from developed countries should provide such necessity". Punctuation and spacing errors are also present, such as missing spaces after commas and periods. These errors reflect a mix of structures where frequent minor slips prevent the writing from achieving higher grammatical control.
