Student answer (Band 5.0)

Access to clean water is a basic human right. Therefore every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge. I largely agree that statement. Because water is most crucial human need. No one individuals live without water.

For example, human body had a 70% of water so, its a evident that how human needs water for herself.

However, not only human our green world need water to survive.

Moreover, some country such as India not have enough lean water to drink. as a result they suffer many kind of health deseas . It's governments reposibilities to supply clean water free.

Water is use to many purpose of life not only drinking but also washing, cooking and etc. All this things need water . So that government duty to provide enough water for every individuals for a country.

On the other hand ,some people think that no need to drinkable water should be free because they believe that clean drinking water is very affordable to buy so every one could buy this. So there is no need to clean water should be cost free. Also they think if government free for clean water that the cause of to much tax.

In conclusion, i believe that a country every home should be clean water supply should be free of charge. its reduced water related heath issues. people are stress free drink to there tap water. such as tap water is drinkable for every people. for our primary need.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position regarding whether water should be provided free of charge. However, the length requirement is NOT met: the student's response contains 227 words, falling short of the 250-word minimum (with 23 words copied from the task prompt excluded from the count). Ideas are limited and under-developed. For instance, while the writer mentions health issues in India and the perspective that water is affordable, these points lack sufficient extension and support. To reach the next level, the writer must expand the word count above the minimum threshold and provide fully developed arguments with more detailed supporting examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some basic organization with discernible paragraphs attempting to introduce points and counterarguments, but there is no clear overall progression throughout the text. Cohesive devices are sometimes inadequate or inaccurate, such as abrupt transitions like "Moreover, some country" and "On the other hand ,some people think". Paragraphing is attempted, but paragraph boundaries and internal flow are disjointed. Referencing is occasionally unclear, which disrupts the logical development of ideas. To improve coherence and achieve a higher band, the writer should ensure a smoother logical flow between sentences and paragraphs, using a wider and more accurate range of cohesive links to guide the reader seamlessly through the arguments.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey basic meaning. The writer attempts some less common terms and subject-specific vocabulary, such as "fundamental human need" or "health issues", but there are noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form, such as "lean water" instead of clean water, "deseas" instead of diseases, and "reposibilities". Spelling and morphological errors occur frequently enough to cause some difficulty for the reader. To lift this criterion to the next level, the writer needs to expand their lexical range, pay closer attention to correct word forms and collocations, and eliminate spelling mistakes that interfere with clear communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The writer demonstrates a very limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent attempts at complex or compound forms that are often faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing articles ("some country such as India not have", "government free for clean water"), subject-verb agreement issues ("No one individuals live", "green world need"), and incorrect prepositions or verb patterns ("Water is use to many purpose"). These frequent errors cause strain and difficulty for the reader. To progress, the writer must focus on mastering basic sentence structures, ensuring accurate verb forms and tense consistency, and reducing the frequency of foundational grammatical slips.
