Student answer (Band 5.0)

Having a approach to drinkable water is a fundamental right of every individual. That is why housing should be provided by unpaid water facilities. I completely agree with this statement as water is an natural resource and people shoul not be paying for using natural rights.

Nature gave us alot of gifts one of it can be pictured as water therefore it is a basic right of an individual to use it freely without any demand as the nature has given it to us. People should demand the housing societies to privide them the resources or establishing a way to provide individuals fresh water which can be used whenever they need it. Just like in older times, how our ancesstors used to drain water from wells as much as they can without even spending a penny. Moreover, government should take the responsibilities to provide societies a well structured amount which they can use to build water filter plants from where people can get full benefits.

Although, nature has given us free water but creating a way to consume it or to supply it to the citizens is the responsibility of the authorities of that area. It could was a espensive process which required alot of human as well as mechanical effort. Moreover we can not neglect dountime and the total amount of cost required in this aspect.

In conclusion, provided by the chance to access clean and fresh water without any cost ia a bundamental individual right which cannot be unseen.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the task partially by presenting a clear position agreeing that water should be provided free of charge. However, the ideas are limited and under-developed. For instance, the argument that nature provides gifts like water is repeated without sufficient extension, and the discussion regarding the responsibilities of housing societies and authorities remains superficial. While the writer touches upon the logistical challenges of water supply towards the end, the overall development lacks depth and fails to fully explore the complexities of the prompt, resulting in an underdeveloped treatment of the issue.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation with discernible paragraphs and attempts at logical sequencing, such as introducing the opposing view with 'Although'. However, there is no clear overall progression throughout the essay. Cohesive devices are often inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, such as the frequent reliance on 'Moreover' and 'Therefore' to link sentences. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, as seen with ambiguous pronoun usage ('one of it can be pictured as water'). Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs is mechanical and lacks smooth transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'fundamental right' and 'mechanical effort', but these attempts are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice and spelling, including 'approach' instead of 'access', 'unpaid' instead of 'free', 'an natural', 'alot', 'ancesstors', 'privide', 'dountime', and 'bundamental'. These lexical errors and awkward collocations cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted control of lexical features.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer uses a limited range of sentence structures, relying primarily on simple sentences alongside some faulty attempts at complex forms. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that can cause difficulty for the reader, including problems with subject-verb agreement ('people shoul not be paying'), incorrect prepositional patterns ('provided by the chance'), article misuse ('an natural resource'), and tense inconsistencies such as 'It could was a espensive process'. Punctuation and word form errors within grammatical structures are also noticeable throughout the text.
