Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is frequently argued that every house in the world should have access to pure water without paying any single penny as this is a basic necessity of human being. I strongly agree with the statement because water is widely available all around the world and even human itself made of 60% of water.

Nowadasy, clean water becoming severe problem and more than half of the humanity pay to gain access to clean water. Notably, 70% of the earth contains water then still peoples have to pay for it, why? The asnwer is unncessary use of water and throwing platics into it. For example, at beaches, people throw platics bags at coast which then mixed into the sea, and platics never extint leads to permanant dirt and spread of micro-plastics. This create a business chance for greedy peoples to sell water and peoples have to helplessly pay for it. Governments must take action and ragulate policies to controel dirt in sea and to controle water selling.

Water is one of the ingrediants that are basic buildig block of life on the earth just for not human but other creatures too. Water isn't just a fluid we use to drink, wash or in cooking etc. instead its application area is so wide that it's almost necessary in every sanrio. For instance, to grow corps, build houses, perfrom chemical reactions in lab, producing elcetricity etc. If access to clean water is getting severe then it is a clear threat for upcoming years. In my opinion, every person must have access to clear water but this doesn't he/she should unconsiously use water and waste it without any reason.

In conclusion, pure water is right of everyone but it is our moral and ethical duty to use water responsibly. States must take action to reduce the threats aligned dehydration.

Overall5.5

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task and presents a clear position regarding whether water should be provided free of charge, acknowledging both the right to water and the need for responsible usage. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For example, the initial point about water availability is somewhat superficial, stating that 'human itself made of 60% of water', while the discussion on pollution and commercialization is clearer. To reach a higher level, the ideas would need more thorough extension and support, avoiding over-generalisations and providing more robust, detailed argumentation regarding the socio-economic implications of free public utilities.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, demonstrating an attempt to sequence ideas logically. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical, and referencing is not always clear, as seen in abrupt transitions between sentences like 'The asnwer is unncessary use of water and throwing platics into it.' Paragraphing is used, but the internal links within paragraphs can feel disjointed. To achieve a higher standard, the writer needs to employ cohesive devices more smoothly and ensure that each sentence flows naturally into the next to establish an unmistakable logical progression throughout the text.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task and attempts less common vocabulary, such as 'commercialization', 'ingrediants', and 'unconsiously', though this comes with noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, spelling, and word forms (e.g., 'Nowadasy', 'platics', 'extint', 'ragulate', 'controel', 'sanrio', 'corps'). These errors do not completely impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score. To move up to the next band, the student must expand their control of less common lexical items, improve precision in word choice and collocation, and eliminate recurrent spelling mistakes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over sentence structure. There are, however, several errors in grammar, articles, and punctuation—such as 'human itself made of 60% of water', missing articles ('the earth', 'a severe problem'), and awkward phrasings like 'threats aligned dehydration'. These errors rarely impede overall communication, fitting the profile of a mix of structures with some persistent mistakes. To progress further, the writer should aim for a higher proportion of error-free complex sentences and exercise greater accuracy with prepositions and article usage.
