Student answer (Band 5.0)

Access to clean water is a basic human right. I am hundred percent with the statement because every human being have to have a access to clean water for their daily needs.

Firstly, Human being need clean water to drink which gives human being a long and a healthy life. The reason to live long can be because of clean water too because human body are covered with seventy percent of water. To live human being must need water. Human being are nothing without water. They can live a week without eating but they can’t survive drinking clean water. Clean water help our body parts to be clean and healthy.

Secondly, clean water are used in various forms like bathing, washing clothes and utensils and for the plants and animals too. The access of clean drinking water is used for all living creatures in the world like plants and trees. They can’t survive without water too. There should not be any shortage of water in any country. Water should be provided to each and every country. Many people likes to swim in clean water because it keeps our skin safe.

Thirdy, Every home should provide free clean water supply because every one needs it. Selling and buying clean waters are only for rich people’s. What about the one’s who cannot afford for clean water ? It should be provided free of cost so they could thank government and fulfill the needs of water.

Overall5.0

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the task only partially. While the writer clearly states a position in the introduction ("I am hundred percent with the statement"), the ideas presented to support this stance are limited, repetitive, and under-developed. For instance, the arguments regarding health benefits and the need for water are reiterated across multiple paragraphs without being extended into deeper analysis or supported with clear, relevant examples. The position becomes somewhat repetitive rather than clearly progressing through distinct, well-supported main points. Note that 9 words copied directly from the task prompt were not counted towards the total length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation in the text, including an introduction, three body paragraphs indicated by transitional markers like "Firstly", "Secondly", and "Thirdy", and a conclusion. However, there is no clear overall progression of ideas, as the content often circles back to the same basic assertions about needing water to survive. Cohesive devices are used mechanically and sometimes inaccurately, such as the misspelling and awkward use of transition words. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal paragraph cohesion is frequently disrupted by abrupt shifts and repetitive statements.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The lexical resource is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer uses basic vocabulary such as "clean water", "basic human right", and "rich people's", alongside noticeable errors in word choice, form, and collocation, such as writing "drinking clean water" when meaning without it, and "Thirdy" instead of thirdly. There are also frequent issues with plurals and countable/uncountable nouns, such as "clean waters" and "different kind of diseases". These errors and the restricted range mean the vocabulary is barely sufficient to convey the intended message.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The writing displays a very limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent errors. Attempts at complex or modal structures are often faulty, such as in "every human being have to have a access" and "What about the one’s who cannot afford for clean water ?". There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement ("clean water are", "human body are"), article usage ("a access", "the one's"), and prepositions. These frequent grammatical errors occur throughout the text and can cause difficulty for the reader in places.
