Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the task only partially and falls significantly short of the minimum word count requirement, reaching only 161 words instead of the required 250. While you state a clear position that you strongly agree with providing free clean water, your ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, you mention that pure water enhances health and that some people cannot afford it, but these points are expressed briefly without adequate extension or supporting examples from your own knowledge or experience. To move up to a higher band, you need to expand your arguments fully, provide relevant examples, and ensure you meet the minimum word count.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation present, such as dividing the writing into distinct paragraphs, but the text lacks an overall clear progression. Cohesive devices are largely inadequate or missing, making the transition between ideas feel disjointed. For example, moving from the introduction into the second paragraph relies on abrupt shifts rather than smooth signposting, and referencing is sometimes unclear, such as how ideas link across sentences. Furthermore, paragraphing is not managed effectively to structure your arguments logically. To improve, you should use a wider variety of cohesive devices accurately, ensure logical links between sentences and paragraphs, and build a clearer overall progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary range is limited, though minimally adequate to convey your basic opinion on water supply. There are noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. For example, phrases like 'basis requirement' instead of 'basic requirement', 'jerms' instead of 'germs', 'realy' instead of 'really', and 'God gifted' instead of 'God-given' demonstrate frequent slips. You attempt some less common vocabulary such as 'purified' and 'essential', but inaccuracies remain present. To achieve a higher band, you need to expand your lexical range, use less common items with greater precision regarding style and collocation, and eliminate basic spelling and word-choice errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response displays a limited range of sentence structures, relying primarily on simple sentences with frequent errors. Your attempts at complex or compound structures are often faulty, leading to punctuation issues such as missing full stops or run-on sentences. For instance, 'Clean water should be provided to everyone free of cost it is a basis requirement of every home' features a run-on error, and instances of subject-verb agreement or article usage need better control, such as 'It play vital role'. These frequent errors can cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve, you should incorporate a wider mix of accurate complex sentence forms, pay closer attention to punctuation, and ensure better grammatical accuracy across all verb forms and agreements.
