Student answer (Band 5.5)

Every human's basic right is to have an access to the clean water.Thats why every house ought to have a water supply with zero rupees to pay.I totally agree with this approach as it is beneficial for good health as well as building a stress free society.

Enjoying sound health is a major benefit of giving totally free clean water supply to each house because clean water plays a fundamental role in the health of a human being .Providing clean water free of cost to the individuals helps every citizen to drink only clean water which logically helps them to stay away from different kind of diseases . A healthy society can be formed through this phenomena. For instance, in Pakistan every house gets the clean water supply without paying any rupees due to which pakistanis suffer the lowest issue of chronic stomach problems as compared to other countries which lack of clean water.

I believe that the acess to clean water without any money reduce the financial stress of individuals as lower class families are worried about the expenditures and cannot pay heavy amount of money just to get acess to the clean water which is actually right of every human due to which they can be stressed and depressed which can leads to serious isuues like sucide .In adition, this approach is quite fruitfull because it helps the poor people and middle class families in reducing the economic burden of basic human right which are fulfilling their necessaities of life with difficulty.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response successfully addresses all parts of the prompt by taking a clear and consistent position in agreement with the idea that free clean water should be provided to every home. The main ideas—such as health benefits and the reduction of financial stress—are relevant, but they sit between levels of development. For instance, the discussion on health benefits is introduced and supported by a general example regarding Pakistan, yet the idea remains somewhat under-developed rather than fully extended. Similarly, the points regarding financial stress and potential extreme consequences lack precise elaboration. Nevertheless, the position is well-maintained from the introduction to the conclusion, fully satisfying the requirements for this level while hinting at more comprehensive task coverage.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear central stance, dividing the response into a logical progression of paragraphs addressing health and financial benefits followed by a clear concluding summary. However, referencing and cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or faulty. Phrases like 'That's why' and 'By concluding' are overly simplistic and reveal awkward transitions between ideas. Paragraphing is utilized, but the internal logical flow within paragraphs occasionally feels repetitive, such as the redundant mentioning of financial burdens and stress across consecutive sentences. To achieve higher bands, the writer needs to employ a wider range of cohesive devices more naturally and ensure smoother referencing between sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, though the range is quite limited and basic. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'fundamental role,' 'economic burden,' and 'lifestyle,' but these are often accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form. Examples include 'zero rupees to pay,' 'different kind of diseases' (singular/plural mismatch), 'this phenomena' (singular form used for plural), and 'fruitfull.' Spelling errors such as 'acess,' 'suicide,' 'adition,' 'leass,' and 'sholud' appear throughout the text. These lexical limitations and errors mean the range remains restricted, though communication of the main ideas is generally maintained despite the mistakes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates a limited range of structures, attempting complex sentences that frequently contain errors. There are noticeable issues with articles, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'an access to the clean water' and 'lack of clean water.' Punctuation is also problematic, marked by missing spaces after periods and commas, as well as run-on sentence structures like 'Every human's basic right is to have an access to the clean water.Thats why every house...' While a mix of simple and complex forms is attempted, frequent errors in grammar and punctuation persist throughout the text, occasionally causing difficulty for the reader and keeping the response firmly within this accuracy band.
