Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is a basic human right to access to clean water. Water in and essential part of everyone's life. I partially agree with this statement because water is a basic need of human, but at the same time I disagree with this statement as if it's free of charge people waste water most of the time.
On the one hand, providing free water can help people avoid travelling to collect water. For example, in villages there is only one hand pump, mostly women go there carrying some containers to fill water in it. Especially it is difficult for the pregnant women or the older women. Moreover, providing water in home will be beneficial. Government should provide the access of clean water and drinking water directly to their taps. Health problem will be improved if the clean water is available. It helps to avoid in delay of work. The work will be done on time as they don't need to wait in line for the water.
On the other hand, providing free water may occur some problems. For example, children waste the water by not closing the tap after using it. Moreover, young people use more water while taking shower. Government cost will be increased as they have to pay the maintenance of water supply. people waste water as they don't have to pay for it.
in conclusion, providing free clean water can make life easier for many people, especially those who live far from water sources. However, it may lead to water wastage. Therefore, I partially agree that people should use it responsibly.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the question and state a qualified position: free access can help people, but may encourage waste. The examples about women collecting water and the difficulty for pregnant or older women are relevant, as is your point about household taps improving access. However, the response does not fully examine the key distinction between access to a basic supply and making all household water free. The claim that health problems will improve and work will be completed on time is asserted rather than explained, while the concerns about waste and government maintenance costs also need fuller support. Develop these ideas with clearer reasoning and a specific example, then make your final position more precise about whether a limited essential supply should be free.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “in conclusion” make the main progression easy to follow, and the examples are generally placed with the relevant argument. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the clearer progression associated with a stronger performance. However, links between individual points are sometimes mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “Moreover,” and the move from health benefits to work being completed on time is not fully explained. Improve cohesion by varying linking methods and using clearer references between sentences; also keep paragraph openings and capitalisation consistent.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “clean water,” “water supply,” “maintenance,” and “water sources.” Some phrases also convey relevant detail, such as “carrying some containers” and “wait in line.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural, including “Water in and essential part,” “Health problem will be improved,” and “Government cost will be increased.” Repetition of “providing water” and “waste water” also limits flexibility. Aim for more precise expressions and check whether words naturally combine in English. For example, describe health outcomes as improving and costs as rising, rather than saying that a health problem is improved or a cost is increased.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrastive sentence beginning “I partially agree … but at the same time I disagree” and a conditional clause with “if it’s free of charge.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include “It is a basic human right to access to clean water,” “Water in and essential part,” and “people waste water as they don’t have to pay for it,” where sentence construction, articles, or capitalisation need attention. There are also problems with agreement and number in “Health problem will be improved.” Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and checking articles and plurals, then proofread sentence openings and punctuation. Greater control of these forms would make your varied sentences clearer.
