Student answer (Band 5.5)
Filtered water is essential for every living thing, especially humans, and everyone has the right to access clean water at home at no cost. In this essay, we will discuss the importance of providing water to every home at no cost. I agree with the point of supplying water at home because it has a great importance in our lives, especially in desert areas where there is no source of water; individuals can get water from a long distance of many miles on the back of a camel.
On the one hand, providing water at home is our government's responsibility his duty to provide the daily needs of the people and take care of our nation. For example, the government of Punjab has worked on water filtered plant on many cities; in our city their no clean water for drinking purposes for many years. In this way, the CM of Punjab has provided the facility of pure water.
On the other hand, in societies, dirty water can cause different diseases, and the hospitals are full of people in serious condition. It can disturb our food chain if people have any illness; they cannot pay attention to their work they can cause bad effects on the country's economy. For example, in Lahore, the backward areas where the government cannot give attention have a lot of environmental issues, including dirty water can cause many health problems, especially as it can damage the stomach.
In my opinion, if there are some places where the land is so dry and does not have enough water for the people, then you can charge for water supply because if the government does not charge in this area, individuals cannot take care of water and wastewater without any reason.
In conclusion, access to clean water is an important right of humans and the responsibility of the government to supply water in the homes of people free of cost.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you support free household access to clean water, and the conclusion restates this view. You give relevant reasons, including the government’s role, the health risks of contaminated water, and the difficulty of obtaining water in dry areas. The Punjab and Lahore examples help connect the argument to real situations. However, the response does not fully resolve the tension between your main position and the qualification that water may be charged for in dry places. Explain whether you mean that basic access should remain free while extra use may be charged, or whether your agreement has an exception. Some points, such as the effect on the food chain and the economy, are asserted but not clearly explained or supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The sequence from government responsibility to health consequences is generally understandable, and signposts such as “On the one hand” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion. However, “On the other hand” suggests a contrasting argument, while the paragraph that follows adds another reason in support of your view. The progression is also weakened by several ideas being joined together without clear links, particularly the sentences about illness, work and the economy. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, and connect examples explicitly to the claim they illustrate. Clarifying the exception about charging for water would also make the overall argument more consistent.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “clean water,” “daily needs,” “environmental issues” and “health problems,” so the main ideas are generally clear. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “filtered water” and “food chain.” However, some word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise: “water filtered plant” would be better expressed as “water-filtration plant,” and “charge for water supply” needs a clearer phrase such as “charge households for water.” Repetition of “water,” “government” and “people” also limits the range. Build a bank of accurate topic collocations, and choose precise terms for the intended meaning—for example, distinguish “access to water” from “water supply” and “free of charge” from “at no cost.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “where” and “if.” This allows you to express reasons and conditions, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, some sentence structures are faulty or incomplete. In “our government's responsibility his duty,” the possessive phrase and noun phrase are not joined correctly; write, for example, “it is the government’s responsibility to provide…” In “in our city their no clean water,” the sentence needs “there is,” while “the backward areas where the government cannot give attention have…” needs clearer clause construction. There are also problems with agreement and punctuation when several clauses run together. Practise building complete sentences and checking subject–verb agreement, articles and clause boundaries.
