Student answer (Band 5.5)
Task 2
Providing clean water for basic needs is genuine for humans so that they fulfill their need.I partially agree with the statement, and provide my opinion.
On the one hand, people fulflill their need with water supply and they use it for their daily routine. For example, individuals who runs service station need more water to run their business. Household use water for their basic needs, and people live in society use supply water. However, his will not only for private use also for their cleaniness purpose. Water supply should be free for the country households.
On the other hand, people argue with idea of charging cost on supply water, this will stop wastage and store water for future needs. People who use water for business purpose have pay for consumption of water. This will help to minimise the consumption as well as store water cleanly. Industrial waste is also major cause of water pollution.
In my opinion, this is good way to save water and aware people consume wisely. Furthermore, authorities have to set limit on consumption of water. They can take step regarding consumption and set limits on consumption of water, if anyone cosume more water have to pay for extra consumption. In foreign countries rule is already established for their residence.
In conclusion, although people have their own opinion regarding the distinct arguments. I, however, believe that there should be a balanced decision for this topic. Government and individuals corporate with each other and set limit on water consumption.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the topic and give a position, but it is not fully clear whether you agree that every household should receive water free of charge. The opening says you “partially agree,” while the conclusion shifts to a “balanced decision” based on limits, without explaining which household water should be free or when charges should apply. Relevant points include water for household needs, business use, and reducing waste, but these ideas are brief or unclear. For example, the service-station example does not explain how it supports your view on free household supply. Develop a clear position and explain the distinction between essential domestic use and commercial or excessive consumption, supporting each point with a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs, an opinion paragraph, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal a change in viewpoint. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow because the relationship between free household water and charging users is not clearly explained. Some ideas are repeated, particularly setting limits on consumption, and the final paragraph largely restates this point rather than drawing together the argument. Referencing is also unclear in places, such as “this will stop wastage” and “this will help,” where the reader must infer what “this” refers to. Group related points and use clearer links between claims and explanations.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “water supply,” “wastage,” “consumption,” “pollution,” and “authorities,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, sometimes making the intended meaning difficult to understand. Examples include “Providing clean water for basic needs is genuine for humans,” “store water cleanly,” and “aware people consume wisely.” There are also spelling errors such as “fulflill,” “cleaniness,” and “cosume.” Aim for precise, natural phrases and check spelling carefully. Using terms such as “essential household use,” “conserve water,” and “charge for excess consumption” would make the argument clearer and more appropriate to the topic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if anyone cosume more water have to pay for extra consumption.” However, many sentences contain errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, or punctuation, and these sometimes make the meaning hard to follow. For example, “individuals who runs service station need more water” has agreement and article problems, while “people who use water for business purpose have pay” has an incomplete verb construction. Several sentences also run together without spaces after full stops, and the opening sentence lacks a clear grammatical structure. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check agreement, articles, and punctuation.
