Student answer (Band 5.5)

Basic hygiene measures should be adapted by every human being on earth. I agree to a great extent that the availability and usage of pure water is a right of every single individual and its providance to each home should be free of cost. It can limit waterborne disease and related human health issues but, alternatively it could imply a financial burden on state.

The availabilty and usage of clean water by humans have certain benefits. It could be used for drinking, cooking, cleaning , bathing and for many other purposes. Food cooked with pure water would have a certain reduction in waterborne disease such as cholera and typhoid. In contrast, drinking of an unfiltered water could have adverse affect on a persons' health. For instance, kidney stones could be developed if an individual regularly use unclean water.

However, the supply of filtered water to every single home is a major finacial burden on state. People donot value the things which are available free of cost. Therefore they waste alot of water without using it properly. When people will pay the cost of using pure water they would realize its worth and therefore, they will use it properly .

In conclusion, i agree that every single human being should jhave access to clean and pure water free of cost but people should also realize its worth and donot waste it , otherwise it woluld lead tom water scarcity issues.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you agree that clean water should be available to every home without charge, and you give relevant reasons, including preventing waterborne illness and the cost to the state. The examples of cholera and typhoid help make the health argument concrete. However, the response does not fully resolve the tension between free provision and your claim that people should pay to value water; explain whether basic household use should be free while excessive use is charged, for example. The point about kidney stones is also asserted without support. The response is 239 words, so it falls short of the required 250 words. Develop the counterargument and clarify your position to address the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on health benefits, a paragraph on cost and waste, and a conclusion. This makes the main line of argument easy to follow. Linking expressions such as “However” and “In conclusion” signal the shifts between sections, and the health examples are placed with the relevant point. At times, though, connections between ideas are abrupt or unclear. In particular, the claim that water should be free sits uneasily beside the suggestion that people should pay for it, and the conclusion repeats this unresolved contrast. Some transitions, such as “In contrast,” do not clearly show the relationship between the sentences they connect. Use clearer referencing and explain how each paragraph supports your final position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “waterborne disease,” “financial burden,” “filtered water,” and “water scarcity.” These choices help communicate the subject and show attempts to use more specific language than basic everyday terms. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “providance,” “availabilty,” “finacial,” and “adverse affect.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “usage of pure water” and “a certain reduction in waterborne disease.” Choose more natural collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, “access to clean water” is more idiomatic than “availability and usage of pure water.” Greater precision would make the argument clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “When people will pay the cost … they would realize its worth” and a contrastive sentence beginning “However.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation recur. For example, “When people will pay” should use a present form after “when” for a future meaning, and “an individual regularly use” needs subject–verb agreement. The opening sentence also has an awkward structure, while “a persons' health” has incorrect possessive punctuation. Review sentence boundaries and avoid joining clauses with commas alone. More accurate control of these patterns would make your ideas easier to read.
