Student answer (Band 5.5)
The access to clean water is among the basic rights of humans. Everyone, regardless of their region, skin tone and race should get access to clean drinking water free of cost.
I am of the same opinon that people around the globe should get access to potable water without any charges.
Water is one of the necessities of humans and for proper body functioning, adiquate amount of water is needed. For that reason, availibilty of fresh water is crucial for everybody to sustain themsleves. Since some of the people cannot afford to get clean water by water pumps, the governments of different nations should provide everyone an access to water supply for free. For instance, a definite proportion of tax should be used to form giant water pumping and filteration stations in every town. From those stations water should be supplied to every home using pipelines.
Since many regions of the world have scarcity of water, finding a source of water there is a challenging task. Therefore, this water shortage poses serious health issues in the residents. According to the medical specialists, water is crucial for maintaing many important functions of our body, including digestion, urination and removal of salts from the blood. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that clean water should be available without charge, and you give relevant reasons about basic needs, affordability and health. The suggestion to fund pumping and filtration stations through tax is a practical supporting example. You also explain possible health consequences of water scarcity. However, the response does not fully develop how a free household supply would be provided or address possible costs and limits. The rainwater-harvesting point is relevant, but the final explanation is cut off at “After collecting the water, its filter…”, leaving this idea incomplete. Develop each reason with a complete explanation and example, and connect the proposed solutions more explicitly to free access for every home.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable sequence: it states agreement, explains the importance of water, then discusses scarcity and health. Linking expressions such as “For that reason,” “Since,” and “Therefore” help show relationships between ideas. However, progression is not consistently clear. The opening repeats the same position in two consecutive paragraphs, and the shift from free piped water to rainwater harvesting is not fully explained. Some links also make the reasoning feel mechanical, while the unfinished final sentence interrupts the ending. Organise the essay into distinct paragraphs with one main purpose each, avoid repeating the introduction, and use a concluding paragraph to summarise your position and proposals.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “potable water,” “water scarcity,” “rainwater harvesting,” and “kidney stones.” These choices show an attempt to discuss the issue precisely, and the meaning is generally understandable. However, several spelling errors and awkward word combinations reduce accuracy, such as “opinon,” “adiquate,” “availibilty,” and “filteration.” Phrases such as “get access” and “an access to water supply” are also less natural in this context. Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, for example, “have access to clean water” and “water-treatment facilities.” Proofreading and checking unfamiliar vocabulary would make your ideas clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use both simple statements and more complex structures, including the conditional “If enough amount of water is not available…” and clauses introduced by “Since” and “because.” Most of the argument remains understandable, which shows some control of sentence construction. Some grammatical errors persist, however. In “Everyone … should get access,” the introductory phrase needs clearer punctuation, and “the people will suffer” is an awkward article choice when referring to people generally. The final sentence, “After collecting the water, its filter…,” is incomplete and leaves the grammatical relationship unclear. Review articles, sentence boundaries and complete clause construction, while continuing to use complex sentences to explain cause and effect.
