Student answer (Band 6.0)
I totally agree with the statement that access to clean water is a basic human right and it should be supply to each and every house for free of charge.
Water is one of the basic requirements for a person to live. It is used in daily routine in many ways, such as drinking, cooking, washing and cleaning. Clean water is a necessity for living or spending life whether it's a human life, plant life or animal life. Earlier one of the main factors for causing chronic disease was the contaminated water. It is still a reason for long term disease as well as short term viral and infections. Thus, it can be overcome by using the clean water.
It is the responsibilty of governments to regulate and make sure that each and every house in their circle are getting clean water supply as it is the basic human right. However it is also a responsibility of individuals to make less and right use of water. People are paying tax from their earnings for these types of facility only, if it is not used in improving the basic human needs than it would not be the right use of taxes. Getting clean water for free should not be misused by people, they should minimize the unnecessary use of water. I think this can be made possible by allowing or supplying water in a controlled way by governments.
In conclusion, supplying clean water to people help them in maintaing healthy life and restrain people from chronic diseases. Clean water can increase the average human life. So, it should be served to people for free of cost.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the opening: you agree that clean water should be supplied to every home free of charge, and you return to this view in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons, including water’s role in daily life, the health risks of contamination, and the government’s responsibility. The discussion also recognises that free provision should not encourage waste. These points address the task well, but they are not developed equally: the health argument is explained in general terms, while the claim that taxes should fund the service would benefit from a specific example or clearer explanation. To strengthen the response further, explain how free access could be balanced with conservation and support your main reasons with more precise examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: it introduces your opinion, develops reasons in two body paragraphs, and ends with a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “Thus,” “However,” and “In conclusion” help show the relationship between ideas. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Thus, it can be overcome by using the clean water” does not clearly identify what “it” refers to, and the shift from government responsibility to individual water use could be signposted more smoothly. The second body paragraph also combines taxation, public responsibility, and controlled supply without fully separating these points. Use clearer referencing and organise each paragraph around one main idea, with supporting explanation following it.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your argument, including “contaminated water,” “chronic disease,” “basic human right,” and “unnecessary use of water.” These choices show awareness of the subject, but the range is sometimes repetitive, particularly with repeated references to “clean water” and “people.” Several phrases are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “for free of charge,” “in their circle,” and “restrain people from chronic diseases.” There are also spelling errors, including “responsibilty” and “maintaining” written as “maintaining” incorrectly in the conclusion. Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. A broader set of terms for water provision, public health, and conservation would make the argument more fluent and exact.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “water, which is used in daily routine” and a conditional structure in “if it is not used…”. The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “it should be supply” needs a passive participle, and “each and every house…are getting” has a subject–verb agreement problem. In “supplying clean water to people help them,” the gerund subject requires a singular verb. Articles and sentence construction also need attention in phrases such as “for causing chronic disease” and “short term viral and infections.” Practise passive forms, agreement, and article use, then proofread each sentence for a complete and accurate structure.
