Student answer (Band 6.5)

As, we all are very well aware that water is an essential element of life. The availability of pure water is a basic right of every human being. I largely tend to believe that every single home should have a proper access of water supply that is provided free of cost. As, it can reduce waterborne diseases and can promote equity and sustainability in nation.

Usually, the urban areas has more access to filtered and clean water than rural areas. Therefore, people residing in rural areas drink mostly unfiltered and unclean water from underground wells, rain water storage tanks. This result in developing serious health issues. For instance, a person consuming consistently unclean water may develop serious kidney issues like kidney stones. Also, it can also lead to the development of waternborne diseases like cholera, typhoid etc. As more food is cooked with unhygienic water, more diseases will be spread among individuals. Therefore, every household should have access to clean water.

It is also argued that water should be supplied free of cost to every house. Because, most people from the low income areas may not be able to pay the charges for clean water. Therefore, it is generally desireable that government should take necessary actions and make sustainable policies to make supply of pure water to every single home without any charge. In this way social status equaity will prevail among all members of nation. Also, necessary approaches on sustainable usage of water should also be made so that the water scarcity issues and financial burden on government donot exist.

In conclusion, it is highly demonstrated that clean water access should be provided to every individual locality free of cost. It can not only prevail equlaity and sustainability among nation but also reduce human health issues. Therefore, government should make policies and approaches and make awareness of its worth among the society to use water in sustainable way , which can lead to the development of overall nation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

Your position is clear throughout: you largely agree that homes should receive clean water free of charge. You address both the health benefits and the fairness argument, and the examples of rural residents relying on wells or rainwater and the risk of waterborne illness help support your view. The conclusion also returns to your main position. To make the response more fully developed, explain the practical basis for free provision—for example, how governments could fund or manage it—and clarify the distinction between guaranteeing a basic supply and encouraging sustainable use. Some claims, such as the link between unclean water and kidney stones, are presented broadly; a more precise explanation or a better-supported example would strengthen the argument.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two supporting paragraphs and a conclusion. The progression from health concerns to affordability and equality is logical, and signposts such as “Therefore,” “For instance” and “In conclusion” make the main relationships easy to follow. However, these linking expressions are sometimes repeated or used mechanically, and the opening “Because” in the third paragraph creates a sentence fragment. Some ideas also run together, as in the sentence about cooking with unhygienic water and disease spreading. To strengthen cohesion, vary the transitions, connect cause and effect more precisely, and use clearer sentence boundaries and references so each paragraph develops one central point.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “waterborne diseases,” “filtered,” “water scarcity,” “sustainable policies” and “financial burden.” These choices help communicate the main argument, and the meaning is generally clear. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “proper access of water supply,” “social status equality will prevail” and “make awareness of its worth.” Spelling errors, including “waternborne,” “desireable” and “equlaity,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural combinations and check spelling carefully; for example, use “access to a reliable water supply,” “promote social equality” and “raise awareness of its importance.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including cause-and-effect clauses and conditional phrasing, as in “so that the water scarcity issues and financial burden on government donot exist.” The overall meaning remains understandable, but grammatical errors occur across the response. Examples include subject–verb agreement in “the urban areas has,” the fragment beginning “Because” in “Because, most people…,” and missing or incorrect articles and prepositions in phrases such as “access of water supply” and “among all members of nation.” Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly around sentence openings and spacing after full stops. Work on agreement, complete sentence construction, and article use, then proofread punctuation to improve control while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
