Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often being said by the people from all over the world that, the water needs to be free for all because every single human has the right to use water freely without paying money. This situation has its own pros in many ways. Also, I agree with the statement, that says water should be free and I will discuss the topic in below paragraph with an examples.

Initially, the water is mainly used in almost every single work done by the humans. Therefore, there are many regulations made by the countries for using the water regarding as per the rules. Every country has different sources of water, that's why they made a rules based on their supplies, impuring technologies, Waterplants and natural supply by the Ocean. For example; the Saudi arab has the most advanced water puring plant all over the world and the most interesting thing is that, the government gives it for free to their residents. While same thing happened in the Switzerland in 2018, the government introduced and successfully passed the bill which states about not to take any charges for the water supply and it became absolutely free.

Secondly, it also helps in financial ways because if we do not charge for water, then that money can be used in other needs. Although that water can be used in big power plants, Plantations and also, in Hotel industry, for example; it can reduce the costing of manufacturing products which made with the help of water or water is the main source to make it. Furthermore, The farming can be easily done within the less amount than before. This idea has good amount of advantages and it can be useful in various situations.

To conclude, I agree with the statement of giving out water free is very good initiative and it has potential to make a indirect growth for the humans and also, for the country itself.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that household water should be free, and the conclusion restates this view. You also give relevant reasons, including water’s importance in daily life and the possible benefits for farming and manufacturing. However, the response does not fully explain the central distinction between access to a basic household supply and unlimited free use by industries. The examples about Saudi Arabia and Switzerland are presented as evidence, but their relevance and connection to your argument are not explained in enough detail. Some points, such as the claim that not charging for water frees money for other needs, also need clearer reasoning. Develop fewer ideas more fully and directly address how a free supply could be funded and managed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “Initially” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. This makes your position and main points easy to locate. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the first body paragraph moves from water’s general importance to regulations and then to two country examples without showing how each supports free household access. Linking phrases such as “Furthermore” and “To conclude” help, but some connections feel mechanical, and references such as “that money” are not fully clear. Organise each body paragraph around one reason, explain it, and then use a specific example that directly illustrates it.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “water supply,” “regulations,” “manufacturing products,” and “farming,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, sometimes making the intended meaning less clear. For example, “impuring technologies” appears to be an incorrect term, while “water puring plant” and “reduce the costing” are not natural expressions. There are also spelling and form errors such as “Saudi arab” and “Plantations.” Aim for precise, conventional phrases and check spelling and word forms carefully. Replacing repeated general wording such as “good amount of advantages” with more specific language would also improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if we do not charge for water, then that money can be used in other needs.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation occur across the response. For instance, “I agree with the statement, that says” uses an unnecessary comma, and “they made a rules” has a number-agreement error. The opening sentence is also awkwardly constructed, while “I will discuss the topic in below paragraph” shows problems with article and preposition patterns. Work on building accurate sentence frames first, especially with articles and singular/plural nouns, then check punctuation around clauses and introductory phrases.
