Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
Your position is identifiable: you support free household water, and you mention its necessity for survival, food preparation and cleaning. However, these points are mostly asserted rather than explained or supported with a relevant example, while the opposing view is introduced but not meaningfully developed. The essay therefore addresses the question only minimally, with limited and under-developed ideas. The conclusion repeats your position but adds little reasoning. The response contains 230 words, so it is 20 words below the required minimum; the 23 words copied from the task prompt are excluded from that count. To strengthen the response, explain how charging for essential water could affect low-income households and give a specific example, then address the costs or practical challenges of providing it free.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.0
There is an attempt to use an introduction, body paragraphs and a conclusion, and phrases such as “In conclusion” signal the ending. However, the progression between ideas is difficult to follow. The first paragraph contains a run-on sequence of claims and an incomplete transition (“The this essay will…”), while the second ends with an unfinished thought (“The rearmost coherent factor…”). The third paragraph introduces the opposing view but does not explain it, and its references, such as “that” and “it,” are unclear. Some linking phrases are used mechanically or do not establish a logical relationship. Organise the essay around one clear reason per paragraph, connect each reason to an explanation or example, and remove incomplete or unrelated sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt a range of vocabulary, including “basic human right,” “significant,” “merits” and “reiterate,” but control is inconsistent. Several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “I quibble from them,” “top notch concrete reason,” and “rearmost coherent factor”; these make the intended meaning harder to understand. Spelling errors, including “substainable,” “neglacted” and “fuither,” also weaken clarity. Repetition of “water” and “important” limits the range, while some phrases appear chosen for formality rather than precision. Aim for straightforward, accurate expressions such as “I disagree with this view,” “a key reason,” and “essential for daily life.” Check spelling and collocations, and use less common vocabulary only when you are confident it fits the meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
The response shows attempts at both simple and more complex sentence forms, but sentence boundaries and basic grammatical control are unreliable. The opening runs several clauses together without appropriate punctuation, and “The this essay will…” is not a complete, correctly formed sentence. There are errors in agreement and verb forms, as in “There are adequate evidence” and “they should paid,” as well as missing or incorrect articles and sentence punctuation. Some fragments, including “so yes that is what i believe in,” further interrupt the flow. These problems sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise building clear subject–verb sentences first, then combine them with accurate conjunctions and punctuation; proofread for agreement, verb forms, articles and capitalisation.
