Student answer (Band 5.5)

Water is the basic need of every living organism. Many people argued that Without water we can not even imagine our life and human needs water to hydrate themselve so, they should have acces to clean and pure water. Moreover, it should be free of charge. I completely agree with this.

we are living on earth. There are 72 percent water on earth but human being don not even have clean water to drink . we often watched on BBC news that there are a lot of people who do not even have clean water to drink . They drink muddy water, beacuse of this many diseases are spreading overall the world specially, African states.

Now peoples, througout the world, doing protests about that government should provide clean water to their citizens. Moreover, According to UN charter, that is the fundamental right of people so, it is government responsibilty to provide people their basic right.

America, which is consider supper power, they provide water to their citizens but on heavy cost. According to them, they are providing filter water that is the reason they are putting charges and duties on water. But, that is against the basic rights.

Providing water is government duty but now there is a duty on us as weell , that we should not waste water. The ratio of clean water is dramatically decreasing. So we should not waste water.

In a nut shell, everyone should have access to clean water to home without any charges. Especially, african states.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: “I completely agree,” and the conclusion restates that homes should have clean water without charge. You address the main issue and give relevant reasons, including health risks from unsafe water and the government’s responsibility to provide a basic right. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the reference to protests and the claim about America charging for filtered water are not developed with clear evidence or a direct explanation of how they support your argument. The point about conserving water is relevant but could be linked more explicitly to free household access. Develop each reason with a specific explanation or example, and clarify the distinction between free access and the costs of treating and supplying water.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has an overall structure: an introduction, several paragraphs presenting reasons, and a concluding summary. Ideas generally progress from the need for clean water to government responsibility and conservation. You also use linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “So,” and “In a nut shell.” At times, however, these links feel mechanical or do not show the precise relationship between ideas. The paragraph about America, for instance, moves from filtered water charges to the claim that this violates basic rights without explaining the connection. Some paragraphs also combine several points, while the conclusion introduces “Especially, african states” without integrating it into the summary. Use clearer topic sentences and organise each paragraph around one reason, with transitions that explain how the ideas relate.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “clean water,” “fundamental right,” “government responsibility,” and “diseases.” There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “filter water” and “ratio of clean water,” but these are not always natural or precise in context. Noticeable spelling and word-choice errors—such as “acces,” “beacuse,” “responsibilty,” and “supper power”—reduce accuracy and can distract the reader. Some wording is repetitive, particularly repeated references to people needing clean water. Build a more precise range of collocations for water access and public services, and proofread spelling. For example, “availability of safe drinking water” is more precise than “ratio of clean water.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a relative clause in “America, which is consider supper power,” and a reason clause explaining that people drink muddy water. The main message is usually understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. Examples include “There are 72 percent water,” “human needs water,” and “they provide water,” where sentence structure, agreement, or verb forms need correction. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in the lowercase opening “we are living on earth” and the comma splice in “Providing water is government duty but now there is a duty on us as weell.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries, then check each sentence for a complete, correctly punctuated structure.
