Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear in the introduction: you “totally agree” that homes should receive water free of charge, and you give relevant reasons, including health, household use, and the role of government funding. However, the task is only partially developed. The health point is difficult to follow, and the discussion of industrial demand and underground pipes does not clearly explain why household water should be free. The conclusion repeats your view but adds little support. The response is also 10 words below the required minimum. To strengthen the answer, explain how free access protects people who cannot afford water, and develop one or two examples that directly support your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the ideas are grouped broadly by topic. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear: the first body paragraph moves from human metabolism to household activities and then to factories without explaining the links. Connectors such as “Besides this” and “meanwhile” are used, but they do not always show the relationship between the ideas accurately. Some sentences also run together, making the argument harder to follow. Use clearer topic sentences, develop each paragraph around one main reason, and add linking phrases that show cause, contrast or example precisely.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “clean water supply,” “industrial demands,” “funds and taxes,” and “underground piping.” This gives you some useful topic coverage, but the range is limited and many spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand, such as “soruce,” “nas ic,” “objectics,” and “stagination.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “water planting” and “system implantation.” Aim to use accurate, familiar expressions rather than forcing complex wording. Proofread spelling carefully and learn common collocations for public services, health and infrastructure; this will make your meaning clearer and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, but the range is limited and complex attempts are often faulty. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in phrases such as “human being and other living species dependents” and “everyone coould easily approach,” while sentence patterns such as “which is 70 to 80 percent depends on water” are difficult to interpret. Articles, plurals and punctuation are also inconsistent, and several sentences lack clear boundaries. These frequent problems sometimes make the reader work to understand your meaning. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking agreement and punctuation in each sentence.
