Student answer (Band 6.0)
Most of the people argue that every home should have a free water supply which should be accessible to everyone with free of cost. I partially agree with this point of view beacause water being a natural resourse should be provided to evey house for everyday use since it has paramount importance in almost every aspect of work starting from drinking to washing likewise a free resourse can be depleated when it is used recklessly.
To commence with, water plays an important role in day to day life of a human being which is used in drinking, washing cloths and household things moreover the average use of water is still high in almost every household. Thereby everyone cannot afford the basic needs of a person which is used in almost all the works. For instance, most of the people in rural areas and under developed areas of the maharastra often struggle to fill their stomach in serach of bread so water being a ultimate source of hydration is should be provided in free of charge.
On the flip side, most of the houses are having bore-wells in addition to the usual tap water connection from government. Excess extraction of the undergrond water can deplete the water resource in long term leading drought and creation of barren lands. Epitome, most of the rajasthan villages turned dry due to over extraction of underground water through bore pumps.
In conclusion, althoght water emphasizes an important role in everyday life the use of water resource should be under control thereby importing a fees on water supply according to the avarge use of a person is important.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you partly agree that water should be supplied freely, while arguing that charges are needed to prevent waste. You support the access argument with the needs of people in rural and underdeveloped areas, and the bore-well example helps explain the environmental concern. This addresses both sides of your position, but some ideas are less fully developed than others. For example, the claim that people cannot afford basic needs is not clearly connected to how a free household supply would be funded or limited. The Rajasthan example also needs more explanation to show how it supports charging according to use. Develop these links and clarify what amount of water should be free.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction states your position, two body paragraphs present contrasting reasons, and a conclusion restates your view. Linking expressions such as “To commence with,” “On the flip side,” and “In conclusion” make the stages easy to follow. This gives the essay a coherent progression, though some connections within paragraphs are mechanical or unclear. For instance, “Thereby” does not clearly show how high household use leads to the affordability point, and “Epitome” does not introduce the Rajasthan example naturally. Some sentences also combine several ideas without clear punctuation, making relationships harder to track. Use simpler, more precise transitions and make each example’s connection to the main claim explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “natural resource,” “paramount importance,” “extraction,” and “barren lands,” which helps communicate the subject. However, word choice, collocation, and spelling are noticeably inconsistent, and some errors make the reader pause. Examples include “free of cost,” “depleated,” “resourse,” “serach,” and “undergrond.” Phrases such as “fill their stomach in search of bread” are also awkward in this context, while “water emphasizes an important role” uses an unsuitable verb. Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than adding formal-sounding words. Proofread spelling and check collocations, especially in the introduction and conclusion, where errors can weaken the clarity of your main position.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and a contrast introduced by “although.” However, control is uneven, and errors in sentence structure, articles, agreement, and punctuation sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “water being a ultimate source of hydration is should be provided” contains an incorrect article and an unnecessary verb, while “most of the houses are having bore-wells” uses an awkward tense construction. The opening sentence also has an unclear structure, and several long sentences need clearer punctuation. Practise building accurate sentences first, then extend them with one subordinate clause at a time; check articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries during revision.
